This makes sense. However picking up a rental player is for teams primed to make a SB run. I don’t think the Seahawks are there
Maybe not but you never know in the NFL. Coming off a 10 win season and now more experience for the youngsters. This move might not be a guarantee of anything but it does put the team in the conversation. And by moving Clark, they have now recouped picks for the future and I think have a stronger overall defense than last year. If Wilson and the offense do their job, they can compete with anyone.

You must think we still have Seabass as our K.
Myers was an AFC pro bowler last year. Myers made 33 of 36 field-goal attempts, including 6 of 7 from 50-plus yards, including an NFL record five makes of 55-plus yards, and 30 of 33 extra points. He is not a slouch.
Our P was 1st team pro bowler. A push is a fair assessment.

Maybe, our guys been performing at a high level for awhile, most kickers and punters come and go

You didn't just buy a Bugatti. You simply slapped an after market, high performance exhaust on your Toyota.

And before some of you "12's" get all butt hurt about calling your defense a Toyota, it's not 2014.

It's a solid upgrade. That's all.
Good point, but with this move it will make the Hawks a very good defensive team, probably the best defense in the NFC West.

A good addition for Seattle but the Rams are still the better team.
Well, we get to line it up and find out here shortly. I definitely feel Seattle has improved more than the Rams since last year, and even as it was the 2 games they played against each other were pretty tight. Rams D didn't end up being as good as expected last year, and they have a lesser front 7 than Seattle and a couple older guys in the secondary. Gurley wore down and isn't a sure bet to not do it again. Seattle OL is no longer a liability -- most rush yds per game in the league last year. Russell Wilson isn't getting worse. Lots of reasons to believe Seattle will challenge for the division.

Russell Wilson is still the key to success in Seattle.

Tom Brady is still the key to success in NE.

Thank You Captain Obvious.

Yes, most in Seattle are very thankful to have RW.

This is a good move for JD, scheme-wise. He's a natural 4-3 DE, won't have to do the hybrid thing, kick out to LB and cover in SEAT.

Very good pickup here for Seattle. I had them as a possible playoff team before this trade, I think this clinches them a spot in the playoffs.

I could see Seattle winning that division. Rams are due for a Super Bowl hangover with how embarrassing of an offensive performance they had in the Super Bowl. Gurley's knees might be shot and teams know if you just adjust your formation after the HC-QB headset cuts out then Goff is like a fish out of water. Russell Wilson is too good for the Seahawks to keep him and his abilities leashed up for much longer.

Yeah but that would be really expensive, not sure they would. I think they only make this trade with a verbal agreement on a contract, but if he doesn't sign I just don't see the price paid as one that will make anyone freak out.
They only have to pay him 8 for this season.

But it'd be something like 18 if they tag him next season.

Trade made sense for both imo.

Let's not talk crazy, should. Seattle is not a better than the Rams, Rams are better on offense, defense and special teams

But nobody on the Rams is better than Russell Wilson.

True. But it makes the week 5 TNF game a must see.

Does it not?
Yes it does and the Hawks had their chances to beat the Rams both times last season. IMO I think the Hawks are a better team this season, than last season.

If Seattle's good enough to win the division, then they are good enough to get to the super bowl. I feel sorry for SF here. They got screwed by this move.
