Screw Howie and Screw Banner....I want Fresh Blood.....as far as head Coach my short list....Sean Payton should he come available, Bill Obrien Should he come available after that probably Sean Mcdermott.
Bill O'Brien cant seem to stay put any where. f him.So my question for fellow eagles fans here, who would you want to bring in as the next HC if this rumor has legs?
This would be my choice and I know it's not possible because this coach is under contract with another NFL team now, but I really like Bill O'Brian. I think he would fit nicely in the current state the Eagles are in. He has both college and NFL experience. He doesn't appear to be an ego maniac, any PSU fan probably would agree. My GM I'd be okay with Banner again. Thoughts?
Maclin and Mathis are really the only bad deals, and arguably that is more on the player.
.
Care to elaborate on how Mathis was a bad deal?
Deerpathdave still in denial I see.
Bradford wasn't a bad deal?
Demarco Murray wasn't a bad deal?
Byron Maxwell wasn't a bad deal?
GTFO

In hindsight the 2nd rounder might be a bit too much. But how else would we be able to get a QB that might be good enough to compete for a Super Bowl. Foles and Sanchez definitely were not good enough; Bradford has proven (progressively) to be a better QB than both, and was actually still improving. And in fact selling the franchize was not enough to actually get the half-decent QB prospects in the draft this year.
Funny, I saw a whole lot of Sanchez last Sunday that was as bad or worse than anything Bradford has done this season. I see some people going completely ballistic when Bradford throws a ball where the WR can get two hands on it, and yet the WR's fails to catch it because it was 0.5 inches behind him or over his head, screaming for Bradford to be benched. When Sanchez murders Matthews, overthrows Sproles or Celek a number of times as bad anything Bradford has done this season, they are completely silent. Same with the utter silence on the 2nd INT, while Agholor was wide open. The INT last week was as bad or worse than the one Bradford threw in week 2, and again, comparative silence (people were as mad at Austin).
Same with the nonsense that Bradford is not an upgrade over Nick Foles - where people desperately cling to the 2013 season - even though it is clear that that season was a complete abberation on Foles' part, and many suffer selective amnesia as far as his performance in 2014 goes.
Part of the problem with Bradford is (a) the injury moniker (justified or not), and (b) the stark difference between the Bradford in the pre-season and the season itself. Already fairly early in the season a number of writers pointed out that for most QB's it even takes a full season of games to fully come back from an ACL. They pointed at among others McNabb and Brady who had one of the worst seasons in their career the season they returned from an ACL.
The issue with Bradford is that he is not Marcus Mariota. This is a rinse/repeat of McNabb vs Ricky Williams, complete with the attitudes of the fan base and the media.
We are all looking at this in hindsight. But bottom line is all those deals look terrible. Spin it however you want.
