Just looked up flights. Air Canada has one to St Johns today for $289...nothing above $400 it appears.

the screencap was from last night ... someone at aircanada made a quick "correction" early this morning ?

I've seen some nuts short notice flight prices, but crikey. That kinda money is what you pay to get to remote parts of the world with like ten connections.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by, and the firefighters fighting, this devastating fire. the Canadian people are showing their true spirit with this act of kindness.:suds:

Free ferry rides (to Newfoundland)
The Fort McMurray area is so packed with East Coasters that firefighters flown in from B.C. to fight the recent blaze can be forgiven if they return to their families pronouncing a nasally “a” on the word “car.” With so many Fort McMurrayites returning home to family until the city is reopened, Marine Atlantic offered free passenger fares to Newfoundland for evacuees, and 50 per cent off car travel. B.C. Ferries, the much, much more proximate ferry service, offered no such blanket deal — although they are donating $2 from every burger combo sold in the cafeteria.

lol - A whole $2, way to go BC Ferries.
