No I don't. We can help him chase a ring and help our self doing it. No one wants to lose him but he deserves a ring and no way can we get hurt helping him.

Don't think we have to give away Beltre. But we're gonna have to do some dancing to move guys like Lucroy, Gomez, Napoli. And I know most on here are really down on Choo. But in reality he's having a pretty good year. Not worth his contract, but pretty good regardless. He may get us more than some think, although I feel confident we'd have to eat some salary.

An interesting thought also could be to work out a deal with someone like Lucroy or Darvish, but Yu in particular. Pretty simple, we aren't going to win it all this year. However, make it clear to him that we want to resign him but he has the chance to help himself and us at the same time. We agree to trade him to whatever team is offering and he likes, and we take what they offer. He's still free in the offseason, so what's to stop him from coming back? In reality he will end up in SEA as a FA and we all know it deep down, but still is an option. Just because we trade him doesn't mean we don't get him back. Frame it as giving him a chance to go chase a ring. Sending him to an AL team that uses him to knock HOU out would be funny as well.

Agreed, but he has a clubhouse presence so he has value to this team at least. The return wouldn't be enough to justify losing him.
