I am struggling with Kelly's logic on granting a fifth year to Nick Tausch. Mike Mayock made the comment that he brought Tausch back to push Brindza this year. My first thought was that Brindza wasn't that bad last year and given our red zone inefficiency actually was very helpful to us. See USC and the Pitt overtime as examples. Brindza was also a pretty highly touted recruit with a big leg as advertised. He brought something we hadnt had in a while in a guy that could get touchbacks and in any event was already good enough to replace Tausch. Mattock also said that Tausch was struggling all week in practice. I don't see the need to take Brindza out of fg duties and trying to make him a punter has maybe made him regress in fg kicking. I say it would be better to be good in one phase of kicking than be mediocre to bad in all phases. As others have said this is year 4 Kelly needs to get his act together on special teams.
