I think this is a good move for the Chiefs. Peters has a long reputation for being a head case going back to his Huskies days, and it sounds like a locker room can only contain him so long.

But...Chiefs better put up 40 a game next season with Mahomes. Their defense needs work.

Perfect storm here.

Fuller made Peters expendable and Eric Berry's contract is probably the only other big one the Chiefs want in the secondary.

The bigger picture for me is that they could've had one really good year in the secondary and punted. The signals for the past 2 seasons is that the Chiefs are thinking long-term and not trying to win a Super Bowl right now.
