wifey's even less a fan than I am...

dragged me off at about the 70:00 mark...went to Costco.

so, while she buzzed aboot buying in bulk...I stood there in Costco's giant screen teevee department along with about 200 other (mostly ferners) distracted shoppers watching the shootout. Funny thing, only about 5 people cheered when Brazil won.

I watched the game until 2nd extra time period... missed the penalties as time ran out for me as I promised I would take my son to 2nd Dragons of Berk film today and already had tickets.

Great performance by Chile... first 15-20 minutes all Brazil, but then Chile got it going. They are 110% hustle all over the field. I think Chile tired out late, end of regulation Brazil had their chances as well.

Brazil will get a very good game from Colombia.

I don't see how penalty kicks is any dumber than OT in college football. I don't mind the shootout in hockey during the regular season, but if they did it in the playoffs it would be pretty stupid.
