But I mean Kansas should have something of a chance against FCS team, Ohio and Iowa State I would think. or maybe throw in an upset somewhere.
Hell, if they are going to beat anyone, it just might be TCU. TCU sucks against the jhawks

11-15-14 TCU 34 Kansas 30
11-14-15 TCU 23 Kansas 17

Nope- Rhode Island is their only chance. They got anihilated by South Dakota State last year, and I am not at all convinced they'll be up to speed for actual D-1 talent. For all of the talk of how much the team disliked Mangino- he really was a pretty good coach. Kind of wish KU had a sugar daddy like say the Koch brothers, but they seem to be more into politics and Wichita State. Going to take quite some time to get out of the mess Gill, Weis, etc, made.

Not even sure the Koch bros would be much help simply b/c KU is a basketball school first and foremost. Football is a distant 2nd. Mangino was your only hope. Too bad the players and parents were sissies.....

Turner Gill was an awful hire. Still don't understand that one. He had one winning season at Buffalo, going 8-6. I know it's Buffalo and having a winning season there is very rare, but you don't go full retard and hire away the coach at Buffalo just b/c he went 8-6, then followed up that year with a 5-7 season.
Lew Perkins effectively killed KU football for 10+ years, imo.

TT hasn't been much better. Better than TCU but not much 2014 34-21 loss by 13 and 2015 30-20 loss by 10

Considering the money they have put into HC's I am not sure the administration likes that label- or at least would prefer the football program be semi-competitive. But yes- they can pretty easily get booster money for basketball, but can beg for football program and get nothing.

I forgot who is was on here, but someone guaranteed Kansas would beat Baylor this year too.

That sucks, especially when you have HOF alumni like Sayers and Riggins. You would think those two could pull some strings and start getting the boosters to make improvements within the football program.

Maybe OP should rephrase thread, "worst case scenario for your team", rather than add best case scenario. Everybody is picking their team to go undefeated and win a natty as their best case scenario, which makes sense. Except for the lone KU fan, glad he didn't go full homer and predict an undefeated season and natty for the Jayhawks....

I think if you are comparing extremes, most top 25 teams can say it's possible they will make the playoffs. Obviously for everyone except a handful everything would have to break perfectly but for many it's possible.

Take Houston for example. Due to their G5 status, I don't think it's realistic for them to expect to be a playoff team. But if they go undefeated and we see a couple of P5 conferences with two loss champions, it's not impossible to see them making that leap.

Best Case: 8-4. Guaranteed losses to UW and WSU ( by the way the Cougs may score 90+ points in that game, Leach will want to run it up). The Sun Belt is top heavy and Idaho managed to avoid 2 of the top 3 this year so if every possible thing goes right, why not?

Worst Case: 2-10. Struggle against Montana State and then maybe win one more. MSU is going to come out strong that game, but new coaching staff and losing the starting QB is always tough.

Likely Case: 4-8 to 6-6. So 5-7 I guess.

Absolute best case 12-2 and MWC champions although I'm pretty sure San Diego State will win the conference, possibly easily. Worst case 8-5 against the typically weak schedule. In other words completely unacceptable by Boise's standards. I don't mean to be negative. I'm only being real.

Sticking up for Turner Gill. His performance matches the two white head coaches hired after him.

Kansas 2008 8-5 Mangino
Kansas 2009 5-7 Mangino
2010 Gill 3-9
2011 Gill 2-10
2012 Weis 1-11
2013 Weis 3-9
2014 Weis 3-9
2015 Beatty 0-12

Doesn't look like Gill was given much of anything when Mangino was fired. Kansas was trending down. Combine Gill and Weis and Beatty was totally screwed. It isn't like Weis and Beatty were/are lighting it up.

Turner Gill is 29-19 at Liberty. Liberty plays V Tech and SMU this year. Gill is probably at his comfort level, either a G5 or FCS fit him.

Do you really think Iowa could get by OSU in the CCG?

I don't think they will go 12-0 again. That is the best case scenario that I think is possible for Iowa. It's not near the stretch it would have been a year ago, and Iowa almost did go 13-0.

I'm expecting 9-3 to 10-2. Wisconsin and Michigan wouldn't surprise me if they beat Iowa. I wouldnt be surprised if a team Iowa should beat (like ISU, Minn, NW) beats Iowa.

I project Jordan Thomas has a break out year. Jim Thorpe finalist. He had his miscues last year but that kid show'd some big time Sunday play making ability.
