How is this even a thread? Bama is the best team in the best conf.
yeah, they won 3 in a row in the 1980s.

Co-champs in 1989 with two others, one of whom was Alabama. Point being, not many back to back in the SEC since the 1970's, but National Titles there have been plenty of and we have a pretty good share of those since 1970's. What would you want to win more, back to back SEC titles, or national titles?
Difference being, you screwed yourself by hiring a coach everyone knew was not right, we had help from the NCAA. You have heard of them before right?
like i said... 3 in a row in the 80s.
and what i'd like even more than a national title is a perfect season in the SEC. if auburn beats florida state, it will be an unbelieveable season (well, it already has been win or lose... but you know...) but 13-0 in 2004 is still more impressive to me. the fact we were denied the chance to play for a title because reggie bush's transgressions had yet to come to light is unfortunate. but it doesn't take away from what was accomplished on the field.
help from the NCAA? yeah, right. i'm sure alabama didn't screw themselves by breaking NCAA rules, right?
if you want to talk about the biggest regression with NCAA help, that would definitely go to bama... from 13-0 in 1992 to 1 win in 1993.
you may want to check alabama's drop off from 1999 to 2000. from SEC champions and preseason #3 to 3-8.
that's worse than going from #1 to 8-5 to 3-9, especially when the following year they rebound to go 12-1 while alabama rebounded to the independence bowl.
Lemme' spell it out more plainer for the football-challenged bandwagon barner troll. Going from a national title in 2010 to 3-9 in 2012 is the biggest collapse for a national title winning team in college football history. It's common knowledge. LMAO@ you.
i'd say undefeated in 1992 to 1 win in 1993 is worse.
Alabama finished the 1993 season 9-3-1 officially and was stripped of those wins by the NCAA in 1995.
What Auburn did, they did on their own with no stripping of wins. Bama won 9 games on the field and through an act of legislation, had the wins removed after the fact. Sadly, you cant see that there is a difference.
As what team SEC tells Ohio State, "those games are erased so you can't count the wins 0-11".
Actually is officially listed as 1-12 since they played and won a bowl game, but again in the context of this conversation, he is wrong.
0-11 meaning OSU vs the SEC in bowl games. Sorry I'm confusing sometimes.
Stop confusing me dammit
As I have said before, if I could read and write well, I would have gone to Michigan and become a douche bag.
Or Ohio State and become a choker!
or go to bama and learn the mentality to shoot someone because your team choked on a 110 yard FG return.
I feel fairly certain that the trailer trash in question didn't get out of Bumfuck Middle School, but thanks for playing.
true. the alumni do more civilized things, like putting their balls on the faces of opposing fans.
