By the way... how did this thread go from talking about a Browner suspension to talking about who's said what about Turbin and Michael in the past?

Thurmond made the team because Carroll and co. thought he was good enough to make the team. If they didn't, he wouldn't have made the team, let alone gotten the role of the nickel back. Richard Sherman also wouldn't have gone so far as to say that Thurmond was the best corner on the team, without prompting, if Thurmond wasn't good. Up until the other day, the only disappointing thing about Thurmond was that he couldn't stay healthy and on the field. I think most people even considered it a lock that he'd replace Browner as the starter opposite of Sherman next year before all this happened.

Frankly, the only "eye tests" I care about are the "eye tests" performed by the people who see these players almost everyday. Carroll, Schneider and the overall brain-trust with the Seahawks have a good eye for talent and they've proven that over their four years here. They don't get everything right, but they've gotten enough right that if they're willingly putting players in starting/significant roles, those players probably belong in those roles.
