With the new extra innings rules, never understood using your closer in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game unless you intend for him to pitch 2 innings. The bottom of the 10th is A) more likely going to be a save situation, and B) higher leverage with the runner on second.

Not sure what most managers are doing these days, but I guess we know Boone is not following this.

Other than Judge, Hunter Renfroe has a higher OPS than everyone in that Yankees’ lineup today.

not sure what this is suppose to mean but if u r tied in the 9th as the home team u will never need him as the closer:suds:

only the away team will have a closer situation after the 9th

Because Kluber is hurt? Also because Booney doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing with that pitching staff.

No. I assume that was Garcia. There 2 were new pitchers who started this weekend so seems like Boone did some stupid shit and went with a 6 man rotation this week

Taillon started last Sunday. Why didn't he pitch this week?

What the fuck is Boone doing?

Yankees/Booney clearly didn’t take this weekend seriously and decided to focus their attention on the 4 games with TB(and then the 3 with the Red Sox) instead. They figured they could just throw their gloves out on the field and win this series in DET.

I heard this dude threw 7 of 32 pitches for strikes and couldn't believe it. None of the balls were from intentional walks either.

Chatwood's always had piss poor command but that's insane. He led the NL in walks issued in 2018 with 95. He threw 103.2 innings.

It seems like a bit of a perfect storm for him to be left in that long. Chatwood had been doing well this season until a prior game he pitched in which he had command issues and blew a save... but Montoyo pulled him from that one with runners on before the lead was surrendered, which Chatwood apparently got demonstrably pissed about.

So yesterday the Jays' closer and setup man had pitched in the first gave of a doubleheader. In the second game he comes in to get a couple quick outs. Then beginning the next frame he couldn't find the strike zone. Part of what Montoyo may have been thinking is, "Sure, let's do things your way."

You hate to see it....

Another day, another stupid out run into on the bases. This team is not well-coached, and the cherry on top is they're not self-motivators.

They don't get their shit together, this week could bury them.
