The luckiest team in baseball are the Indians.

The A's are better than them but because they play in the best division in baseball, they will likely miss out on the playoffs.

We could see a scenario where Boston and New York play on the final day of the season for the division. Houston has the same record as both of them. Does Houston throw the final game with Baltimore, so they can play the Indians instead of the WC winner?

Sure. .335 OBP and .421 SLG% from an above average defender is still a good player.

There isn't a single team in baseball with fewer losses than the Yankees but I'm sure Dirt will be here shortly to cry about how bad they are lol.

As much as I hate to say it, the Red Sox are a great team. Sucks balls that one of the top 2 teams in baseball will be forced to play in this 1 game playoffs BS.

That is a joke and should be thrown away.

Either go back to the old system or if you want 5 teams, then change this 1 game playoffs to a best of 3 series

Great see ya in the wildcard game

While the idea of Mitch Moreland in an All-Star game sounds pretty dumb, it's been a pretty horrendous year for AL 1st basemen. The highest ranked 1B per WAR from the AL is Matt Olson and he ranks 8th (and he's at 1.7 WAR). Moreland does have the highest wRC+ among 1B with 200+ plate appearances by a good measure (138 to Smoak's 123).

Major League Leaderboards » 2018 » First Basemen » Dashboard | FanGraphs Baseball

Of course, whether he'll sustain this production is another question. His BABIP is nearly 50 points above his career average so I'd expect his BA to regress at least. I'll gladly take his ZiPS and Steamer projections though (111-112 wRC+).

Mitch Moreland has Been a shitbag for a decade

Xander Boegarts and Mookie Betts have already eclipsed their 2017 numbers

JD Martinez is having the greatest season in 200 years of baseball

And some Boston dipshit in here has the sac to accuse every Yankee of being on PEDs

PS. Cheer up Dirt

No kidding. If I had a bookie he'd have a lot of my money on the Yankees against this schlep.

Not to mention CC jumping in a time machine and pitching like 10 years ago.

Yeah, although they pulverized this guy up in NY, they're showing a troubling tendency of playing down to the competition on the road of late.
