And the Yanks still can't win a series in Baltimore.

Tanaka who is supposed to be the Yanks ACE clearly has been our worse starter this year. Not even close.

Tanaka ERA is up to 6.34

They can't keep throwing him out there every 5 days

We had the same issue with Ubaldo stinking up the joint every 5th start and finally Buck had had enough and finally put him in the bullpen.

Difference being Tanaka is supposed to be the ace in New York. Baltimore got Ubaldo to be a 4th or 5th starter.

Except we were dumb enough to pay him $12.5 mil a year to be a top of the rotation guy after he had a great second half for Cleveland during his free agency year.

Over the last 2 games, 15 of the Red Sox 17 runs have been driven in by Moreland, JBJ, Deven Marrero, Sandoval, Rutledge, and Vazquez. Oh and Chris Sale got rocked and Drew Pomeranz pitched 7 innings for the 2nd time in his Red Sox career.

Think its time to insert JBJ into my fantasy lineup?

Depends on what you would be replacing him with. He's a streaky guy, and over the last 15 games his OPS is over 1.000 so you can try to ride that a bit further.

My league is a weekly league so I don't have to make the decision until sunday night. My current starting OF looks like this:

Billy Hamilton (must leave him in due to SB)
Adam Duvall
Ender Inciarte
Marcell Ozuna
JBC

Bench is currently Ellsbury & Beltran (who I'm trying to get rid of).

I only used JBJ this week because Ellsbury injury.

@DirtDirtDirt is it time for the Yanks to make up something and place Tanaka on the DL?

One more stinker, and its exactly what they will do..........He singlehandedly busted half the Orioles lineup out of major slumps.......Im not fooled by his performance against the A's who have a reputation of swinging at everything

Unfortunately, he alone probably ends any big hopes we have for this season

We should probably trade for Cole if the Pirates make him available

I personally hate him, especially at what it would cost

But I could see why a lot of people want him

I remember his meltdown in his one postseason start, and I look at that guy and think this city would eat him alive

Last few starts have been very encouraging for Pomeranz. Good to see him mixing his cutter in there again, he's looked a lot more like First Half of 2016 Pomeranz. His peripherals are looking good (11.3 K/9, 3.57 FIP, 3.21 xFIP) and I would expect his HR/FB rate to continue to regress.

If Price can pitch even like his 2016 self, then this Red Sox rotation can be really good. Eduardo's looked really good and even when he hasn't had his best stuff, he's managed to pitch through it. That was an issue in 2015 and 2016. Some regression was expected from Porcello, but a .370 BABIP allowed is pretty unsustainable. Seems like he's just been getting crappy defense behind him.

The bullpen's the only thing I'm really worried about, but I'd rather the Sox try to solve that from within. There's plenty of options in the minors and Smith could be back around mid/late July. Not sure about Thornburg at this point.

Hard to complain about a 29-23 start when Price has made one start.
