Kershaw is a fine young man, and most likely this will be taken care of with arthroscopic surgery at the most. I wonder why they sent him to NY? My doc at Kerlan Jobe wouldn't operate on my hip, instead sending me to the MAN at S.C.O.E. He did two surgeries on a Bruin BB player about 5 years back, and now the kid is a starter in the NBA. He also said a lot of the problems are hereditary.
