I never fought, but I've trained BJJ and boxed for a bit.I'm gonna pass on the UFC fights this week, Bar None fighting live trumps them every time
Are you next going to tell me about your 1-0 record on Sherdog? lol

ManuwaYeah I'm really interested in Jones/DC, mostly because we don't know what Jones we're gonna see. Dude is a beast though.
Obviously the last two Woodley fights with Thompson were underwhelming but you think he'll be able to avoid going to the ground with Maia? Maia has been on a tear lately. Woodley has the speed and power though.
What about the Manuwa v. Oezdemir? That fight looks like a toss up too.
If the hoop was a money maker why did Hammer sell it? CBS shut down its message boards and they were doing pretty good...
Exactly lol, but 1-0 beats 0-1. Jared is 1-0 as a pro as well, but he just turned 22, whereas I was 36 when I fought 12 years ago. I'm thinking his future is brighter lolI never fought, but I've trained BJJ and boxed for a bit.

I usually watch them by myself or with a few choice friends.
If I'm drinking and watching fights and people are saying really stupid shit and don't know what they're talking about it really annoys me.
Kind of like when people ask me who I think would win out of Mayweather/McGregor and then try to tell me McGregor is going to KO him in round 1 because they saw him fight once.
That's awesome, I wish I would have fought once just to say I did it.Exactly lol, but 1-0 beats 0-1. Jared is 1-0 as a pro as well, but he just turned 22, whereas I was 36 when I fought 12 years ago. I'm thinking his future is brighter lol
This is how I feel when I watch basketball with other people. It annoys the shit out of me in person.

I am often the person who purposely says the most annoying things... Its fun watching some people blow up...
Sounds about right. I could see you doing this, then following up by trying to organize a mock draft of the types of canned soups.
I have one buddy who's a big time casual, but he talks on sports radio and 99% of his listeners no nothing about mma so even with his minimal knowledge they think he knows a lot.
I hate talking mma with him because he literally knows about .5% of what I do, and he asks why his dumb questions bother me so much and I say because you trying to sit here and talk/argue with me about MMA, is equivalent to Me/you explaining or having dialogue about football with a chick who's never watched it.
I have quite a few friends that know more about football than me, and I usually just plead the fifth, I know when I sound like an idiot and need to shut up or I don't know when I'm talking about.Yeah sounds familiar. I had a friend who for the longest time would argue about how Klay Thompson was garbage and that he would take Danny Green over him any day. His hot takes have receded the last year or so.

We have a good team. His other trainer is hid Godfather, as well as my best friend. We've had some guy fight Bellator, but I think Jared will be our first UFC guy. Counting his last two Ammy fights, he's won 3 straight with Legacy/LFA, and their last two middleweight champs just went to the UFC. He's Co main event for a different organization this week, and if he wins, the LFA folks said they'd put him on their televised card in either September or December. Fingers crossedThat's awesome, I wish I would have fought once just to say I did it.
Is he in a good camp? I know a few local circuit guys, and from what I understand it's really hard to break into even if you're good unless you have a lot of connections.

This is so true. When we were kids, Anthony and I would travel everywhere to study different styles, and ended up teaching street defense, which was our own combination of arts and weapons that we felt sere practical. Then when we were 35, we went to a local MMA show, and I felt like I could have beaten anyone on the card. I decided to give it a shot and signed an amateur fight, but was offered a pro fight in Dallas and thought, at my age, might as well get paid lol. I tapped my guy out in round one, but tore my quad, so that was that. Been teaching MMA since, got a great group of guysWhat I hate about a lot of martial arts is that they've gone from teaching you how to defend yourself to straight up sport.
There's a lot of shit you do in Jiu Jitsu that you could never translate into an actual fight if you were to be in one.
