If Peters walks because all Dallas offered was 3M, I'd be pissed.
Me too. They have the Damn cap space. Peters will be starting at some point this season, he would be the best tackle on the roster. His age doesn't matter, pay him fairly. Stephen cares more about lining his pocket than winning games

I dont know.
2021 he made 1.5 mil.
2020 he made 4 mil

Why would his going rate be 6 mil today?
Are we looking at who he used to be instead of who he might be today?

2020 his contract was re-done paying him 8M, with the space we have if it takes a little over 6M I'm all in, if we can get him in for under 2M all the better.

I think he's still better than average and the number I came up with is the average LT salary.

I'm not against getting him to be our LT. Just dont want to pay for the name. I want to pay for performance.
I will have to take your word on his pay because Spotrac says different. I personally wouldnt know

They renegotiated his deal when he moved back to T. The first article I read said 8M, other articles say up to 8M.
He was signed as a G and injury forced him to T, and he asked for T money. I didn't know he played for that low of a deal last season, so I'm probably off of what he'll get, but as I said earlier if Dallas only offers 3M and he walks I'll be pissed.

Agree. I thought I read 1.75M last year with Chicago but whatever it was. He played well but is a year older and last year was in camp early enough to be ready to start the year whereas this year it’s already going to be Labor Day. he is not a $7M plus per year player.

I’d be very surprised and disappointed if we paid him anywhere near $7M because we went without so many other players we could have had and better spent that cap space on. That being said I’d probably give him close to that because we are now screwed and desperate but there are other guys out there Too. We can just move on and bring someone else in. This includes guards because the team is willing to play smith at either spot. But we need to act quickly, which leads me to believe he is hopefully pretty much already signed.

Peter's at 2M is the top I'd pay.

He is a part time guy
You thinking part time if Tyron is back? Or part time even right now? Once he is in shape, or as close as a +300lbs 40 year old can be to in shape, I think he starts at either LT or LG.

They may start Smith off the bat at LT to see how he does but I think most of this season we will see Peters at LT and Smith at LG

Same here. IF Smith steps up he stays, but even a little slip, I think he moves in.

Cowboys need to get this Peters deal done now. It gives walentzko and Ball more time to get ready. The weak link is Biadz? I really don't want to see Vea going up against McGovern week one. I want to see Smith blocking Vea

I agree, only good news is Tampa's OL might be worse than ours, going against a pretty good passrush.

Brady could see more pressure from Dallas than he is used to seeing from Dallas. Dallas needs to stop the run first though. If they can stop the run they got a good chance

I'm thinking he won't play a few games.

Yeah I think he misses week one for sure. After that I guess it's about what kind of shape he is in

No word in his contract yet, but as a practice squad player he makes $11,500 per week. When he's put on the 53 he'll sign a new deal.

I don't think it's automatic, but I read he might be on the PUP at first
PUP would be 4 games before he could practice I think, plus he already passed a physical so I'm guessing no PUP List

I think the rule is they have to be off the PUP list after 4 weeks, they can be activated from the PUP anytime.
