Well I hate to say it, but I think some of the interaction might have been played up for the Showtime cameras a bit. I think Kelly will give MZ every chance he can get. He certainly has earned that right. But the only way he wouldn't lose a year if he transferred now is if he went to an FCS school.

Speaking of that, who are they following this season? Or was it a one time thing?

EDIT - Nope its Legit. Variety Magazine said that Showtime picked up "A Season with Florida State Football" First episode airs the day after the Ole Miss game.

I think he backed out of transferring last semester. But it's a good thing he didn't.

Overall ND will be fine but it would of been nice to have this weapon. We dont have a true pass catching TD. He was the answer.

ND doesnt have that Showtime show this year but ND just agreed with Bleacher report to run mini show about this season and take some inside looks. It wont be as good as show time show but it will still be nice to get the inside look. Should be interesting. Especially the QB battle.

I think over-all the Showtime show was a net positive. We had a good, but not great season, so they weren't following the team around during a clusterfuck season. At least a couple of recruits said that the show helped generate interest in the school too so from that standpoint it was worth it.

I think the show had some negatives though. I think a few guys were hamming it up a bit too much for the cameras and were enjoying their "celebrity" status a bit too much. A lot was made of Tillery and I loved his interactions with Sheldon Day, but I think the fame might have gone to the freshman's head a bit too.

I also think Joe Schmidt might have been playing to the cameras too much as well (no proof, just a personal opinion).

These shows are good entertainment, but as a coach, I am not sure I'd want the distractions either.

Yes I think it brought more exposure to ND that needed it. I do think it has helped the program. I think we are seeing it in the recruiting. Now dont get me wrong winning is still #1 to these recruits but I do think it helped. Was there some negative yeah but I dont think it hurt the team on the field. I just think the players did play to the cameras. I would of been a fan if they just let upperclassmen deal with the cameras and not the underclassmen except for game film that they showed. I think it hurt a guy like Jerry Tillery who was suspended for the bowl game.

I dont think the coaches were thrilled but in this new deal this was Kelly idea and athletic directors idea. So in a way I think they know it lets the fans and recruits a little closer to the ND program.

It will hurt their Dline Depth but nothing ND cant iver come.
