A breakout performer may have been injured at practice today. Not sure the extent or whether or not it even will be an issue yet, however.

Could be Jarrett which would suck something fierce.

Yes it is Knowles that was hurt at practice, no extent has been given yet, expect to find out tonight or tomorrow at the latest when the injury report comes out.

Knowles is not listed on the injury report. Neither are Gregory or Roberts. But Farris (ankle) and Wang (ankle/knee) are both listed as out, and Martin (shoulder) as doubtful.

Miller has a Maisonneuve fracture. Broken Fibula and torn ligaments. Out for season.

I hope Farris is ready to go. I like what I saw out of Arkema and Benedict yesterday but it was still Duke. Our tackles still looked good on tape and are the best OL we have. Becton got beat on a CB blitz, but those are hit and miss and about 70/30. He picked up a few really well. A CB blitz's outcome is determined on the tackles first step.

Maybe Gibson will get some time at guard now as well. He has all of the measurables but I guess the coaches are iffy on him.

WTF are we going to do at tackle next year .

Newsome's done a good job of screwing VT over. It would've been better to hire a guy who actually wanted to bring the program down.

I wish that I could evaluate practice film on OL (the tiny amount that is available to us) so I could see how Shuman and Acree looked this past summer, but I just don't know OL that much. I hope that Taraschke and Conti are quick learners.

Goforth just confirmed a broken fibula for Miller, surgery will end his season. I have a feeling they are not totally sure how bad the soft tissue damage is and will find out when they go in.

He also says he does not expect Ferris to be ready to go for Clemson so look for Via to get the start at center.

from what was open to the public Acree's head was still spinning a little bit from a technical standpoint (which is kinda expected) but he looked a lot more comfortable/natural on offense. His natural stance and frame are much more suited to being an OT than a DT.

we certainly look extremely thin at tackle for next year. im assuming it will be shuman at left tackle and gibson at right going into spring. backups look to be r-freshman or true freshmen...

If this year doesn't do Newsome in maybe next year will. If Newsome stays after this year I have to think public opinion of Beamer will be that he's weak. The problem is obvious to all now

Gibson just needs to develop an agressive mean streak, really nice guy just needs to learn when he snaps the strap to become an animal.I believe its coming I know its being worked on.
