Agreed, but if they can't last long enough to get a quality start then I tend to not acknowledge their effort. 10+ outs to hang on a bullpen is unacceptable IMO.

With the strength of their teams' bullpens and the specialist culture of baseball pitching these days, not sure you can blame them for their managers taking them out. It's a brave new world, apparently.

Carassco pitched 5.2 innings with 7 Ks and no ER against an extremely potent lineup in their house. I'll take that.

Sabathia pitched really well too. A lot of the controversy with Girardi is based on his decision to bring him out when he did.
