KC has yet to win 10 games. I hope he does it this year. Another 8 or 9 win season doesn't cut if for a high paying QB. The defense it better on paper. Kc has enough offensive weapons to succeed. There is no excuse this year.
being better on paper isnt the same as being better on the feild . we dont know about injuries because our team lacks depth

If they don't want to pay the money they could take Darnold. If you use last years draft then the 49ers would be forced to pay the money to KC if they land the #1 pick. The 2018 draft there are options. Last years draft there was no option.

Dude, there are always options.

And let me point out, if we are making the decision NOW based on what we think will be available in next years draft.. we are already screwed. What happens if Darnold gets an ACL late in the season?? Or three of these five super studs decides to stay in school rather than risk getting drafted by the Jets?? Hell this time last year Watson was considered the hands down 1st pick in the 2017 draft... how did that work out??

But again Im hoping they play him on the tag at this point. Because Dan strikes me as the type that he isnt going to stop trying to take the shortcut flashy route until he has fully realized that more often than not it doesnt work. And he and apparently some of the fan base just arent there yet.

Let me ask you this: doesn't KC market value go down in 2018 FA b/c of the 2018 qb class?

Nope. A successful PB QB trumps a collegiate hopeful. FA comes first and teams will line up.

Not necessarily. Still can get a good Qb from picks 20-23. I love how you blame it on the Redskins when you don't know what KC really wants in a LTD. Plus you don't know if the Redskins offered anything yet. Im assuming KC want 90-100mg.

No matter what this falls on the FO. They could have had him at 16 mil a season. They said we want to keep our options open. They could have had him a year later at 20 million. They said no...prove it wasn't a fluke. He proved it and then they offer him the embarrassment deal of 20 million, last season's price.

You keep saying KC has put anything forth. Why would he? He has been shafted for a year and is on a 24 million year. It is up to the FO to put forth a deal that KC can counter.

Here is how I would have countered their stupid 20 mil a year offer. 5 years, 150 million, includes a thirty million SB and two years guaranteed, equaling 80 million fully guaranteed.

That is my point I don't think he will counter or even think about countering b/c he wants to hit FA.

Any one else notice Dean usually breaks out the tried and true

This is funny or I would laugh if.... generally when he is referring to players he would rather see the Skins get rid of any way??

Just an observation

Dean, look at it like this... if you were being asked.. should a division rival extend their QB, do you think you would say.. why yes they should if you thought the player was any good? By this IM saying of course Dallas, NY and Philly think the Skins are doing the right thing, because it will likely mean we are hunting for a QB again in a year.

Any time you are looking for a QB, the rest of the roster becomes less of a concern UNTIL you have settled on a QB.

If there was ever an organization that would allow a top 10 QB to walk without a suitable replacement it would be your Washington Redskins.

I don't think KC has given them his final offer to say here long term. Just my opinion. He is waiting for the Redskins to reoffer. You agreed with me awhile back that we don't think this deal gets done.
Dean, lets try something. I assume you have a job. I want you to go to your boss tomorrow and tell him that its time to renegotiate your salary and you present them an offer that you now think you are worth and what you are willing to work at your current job for. Then come back here and please tell the board how that went. If you boss accepts or counters you are right, KC should present an offer. Something tells me that is not what will happen.

losing KC is not going to be a good thing . to get his replacement you will have to gut 2 drafts regardless if you go vet or draft one .

this hurts the team . 54 mil in cap space allows you to resign pryor maybe brown if they produce but does pryor resign with colt mccoy pitching him the ball ?

how are you going to upgrade the defense throwing 3rd rounders at it with a sprinkling of 2nd s ? realistically you might get one FA who is a difference maker on defense

why the hell do you all want to take a step back for ?

this KC wont sign crap is just another in a long line of reasons put together to go in a different direction

here are the facts , we have no idea what kind of money he wants the last offer we have seen was a joke and now we have reporters filling airspace with speculation

and if it doesn t get done then the skins have no real option but to tag him yet a 3rd time or risk setting the franchise back yet again

you all want a winner but time and time again you dont want to do what it takes to get one . pay the guy market value and do the right thing

regardless if you go vet or draft one

alot of "what ifs" going on this time of year ...

i noticed in your other thread you mentioned Brees becomes a free agent next season ...

so what if ...

we could sign cousins for 25 per ... or sign Brees for ... i dunno ... 28 ?

ok, i did the work, lol

in 2012 the salary cap was 120

manning earned 20 per

that was 16.6% of the salary cap

that 16.6% number should remain constant

so todays highest paid QB should be able to demand 27.8 per ...
