1. It is the front offices fault because this should have been handled a year ago.

2. As we have no idea what will be in the draft, we could just as easily end up with a bad QB that was over estimated because we were desperate for a QB.

3. If we are looking for a QB, the talks will go straight to whats it going to take to go get Darnold or who ever the top rated QB is.

4. Dan and Bruce are not going to settle for the 4th or 5th rated QB on the board.

You are speculating now.

Nope, Im going off of team history. Im also going off of how this fan base generally tends to react when it comes to getting a QB. NO one was pleased with the idea of drafting Tannihill, but most of the fan base got a warm and fuzzy when we traded up in 2012.

And you are speculating as to what Kirk wants considering that they havent offered him a real contract yet worth considering. I find it alot easier to accept that Dan and Bruce havent made a real offer than the whole Kirk is just the devil and wants to send the team into cap hell line you have been spouting for months.

How when KC has this team by the balls? There is no incentive to him to sign a LTD no matter what the offer is. KC is not putting the Redskins first. That is fine but don't play the card that the team doesn't want him here. Of course we don't know the offers or counter offers. If KC really wanted to be here just put an offer to Dan and say you want me Long term this has to be the deal. That would box Dan in and KC can go to media and say Dan didn't want to give me what I wanted to stay here. All the fans would be on KC side.

Cousins has done that. Its been known for months that any deal starts with fully guaranteed money in the 55-$60M start range. Dan and Bruce came back with $27M, so the ball is and has been in their court.

A offer was made after they put the tag on KC? Is that when Dan said I will take over? KC never gave the Redskins a offer.

Again, WHY should he have to give them a new offer??

Hey dan, I want 60M guaranteed

Well Kirk, I will offer you half that

OK Dan, call me when you want to get realistic.

But you know Dean, I actually hope he does play on the tag. Because if Dan and Bruce are good for nothing else, its the Reality show What not to do when running an NFL team.

I don't think Kc said to them he wants 60mg. Kc's real offer has not yet been presented that is why no deal will get done.

So its your assumption that Kirk has not presented them with any kind of offer and this justifies them not presenting HIM with any realistic offers... and its all Kirks fault?? Roger that Ghost Rider

I don't think KC has given them his final offer to say here long term. Just my opinion. He is waiting for the Redskins to reoffer. You agreed with me awhile back that we don't think this deal gets done.

Sure, but the difference is... I dont think its a good idea for them to play him on the tag and I realize three are no trade options. Or at least none that would be a good idea for the team. Sure we might get a 3rd rounder for him, but above that no one is going to give up a high draft pick for a player we are going to lose at the end of the season any way.

Let me ask you this: doesn't KC market value go down in 2018 FA b/c of the 2018 qb class?

If he has a season like the last two, it only goes up.

Because while you can drool over the rookie class, history proves that one out of five will turn out AS good as Cousins, and One out of five might turn out better. So there is a 60-80% chance you end up with a guy worse than Cousins.

The only way his value goes down is if he has a horrid season.

the draft class matters. that is bullshit. IF there wasn't a Danrold in this draft the price would be higher for KC. That #1 overall team is likely to go with Darnold b/c they don't want to pay Kc's price tag. I would laugh if tis the 49ers.

Here is why the draft class has no bearing on what Kirk will get paid.

The team that signs Cousins does not have to force the QB pick. So lets say its the Niners, and they have the #1 overall pick.

Now sure they could burn that #1 pick on Darnold. Or they could Sign Cousins, and take that Number one pick and fleece a team desperate for a QB... kinda like I dont know.. the Redskins in that situation.

Or they could use that #1 pick to take a Starting LT, or DE....

But yea Dean, you are right.... Cousins value is going to plummet because there are supposed to be five QBs taken in the first round.

If they don't want to pay the money they could take Darnold. If you use last years draft then the 49ers would be forced to pay the money to KC if they land the #1 pick. The 2018 draft there are options. Last years draft there was no option.

If he doesn't flop he is the #1 overall pick. The UCLA kid does have a lot of talent. I think its between those two.

is fine but in my opinion neither of those guys are coming to dc and win 10 games as a rookie , which would be better then we have had the last 2 years , which means that is a step backward in the teams growth

KC has yet to win 10 games. I hope he does it this year. Another 8 or 9 win season doesn't cut if for a high paying QB. The defense it better on paper. Kc has enough offensive weapons to succeed. There is no excuse this year.
