My grandson and his wife called last night and said they were through Season 3 Episode 4. All he could talk about was Jamie losing his hand. He also reserved Seasons 4-6 from my DVD collection. Talked about liking Robb Stark and dragons and hating Tyrion and Cersei and all I could think of was my buddy and his fiancee saying the same things a couple of months ago and me telling him just like I told my grandson last night;

"You know nothing, Jon Snow."

Keep on posting. It's enjoyable seeing people react for the first time. I may finally get my wife to watch although I'll have to warn her about the soft ****... she'll hate it!

He'll look completely different starting with Season 4. That throws some people off at first. They replace him with another actor that looks absolutely nothing like him. There have been a few casting changes over the seasons but most are a lot more subtle than this one.

I think he might be my least favorite character on the show and that's probably part of the reason why.

I've never been a fan of the character or either actor but I'd say I prefer the 2nd guy. Had they cast him in the first place I might not mind the character. But given that they cast the other guy first, he was a terrible choice for the recast as you stated. Not only do they look nothing alike but the way they speak and their mannerisms are completely different.

Oh shit... Forgot about Jaime losing his hand and that whole thing. Yes, learning his backstory makes him a bit more redeemable. Interested to see how that all works out and how he adjusts...

Also, as predicted, my wife HATES this show... She thinks I watch it as some sort of soft ****... LOL!!! Keep trying to tell her that she just keeps walking in at the wrong times, but whatever... Not gonna win there.

Tell your wife to concentrate on the excellent storylines instead of the wacka-wacka-do-do stuff for now. The nudity and sexual content actually becomes rather significently less as the the seasons progress (unfortunately so in my opinion but to each their own).

So Stannis seems to be saying that he's going to put off the war for now to focus on the threat from the North, but wonder if everyone else will...

And I left out Theon/Reek (LOL!!!). Man, if he hadn't been such a complete turd earlier I'd feel much more sorry for him, but hard not to sympathize a little. He seemed to have come to the realization that he screwed up before all this, but whatever. He's another one of those I never cared for one way or the other, but knew once those ladies came in and started fiddling with him that it was not going to go well. Hoped against hope because no one wants to see that, think of that or even hear vague whisperings of that...

I love the looks on Selmy and Jorah's face every time Daenarys does something... Like, "Holy shit!!! I can't believe she just did that! And it worked!"... Was worried as the slaves walked out of the city that something bad was going to happen to her, but all good.

Let me rank where I am on how much I like or hate some of these characters after 3 seasons... 1 = hate, 10 = awesome, 5 = whatever.

Jon Snow = 7 - Just not invested in him I guess? He's okay.

Tyrion = 9 - Almost a 10... He is one that started as a 2 or 3 in season 1 and has climbed the ladder.

Cersei = 2 - Really don't like her, but every now and then she lets us in and I relate just barely.

Tywin = 4 - I get him, I just don't like it.

Joffrey = 1 - Sick, twisted f*ck

Jaime = 5 - He's come back from a 2. Helping Brienne was nice I guess.

Margaery = 7 - Easy on the eyes. Gotta think there's some serious plotting going on with her though.

Daenarys = 10 - What is not to like at this point?

Baelish = 2 - He's a turd and still hate his face. LOL!!

Stannis = 4 - Liked him way more before his treatment of Davos

Jorah = 9 - He just seems like a good dude.

Sansa = 7 - WAY too naive for this world, but likable enough.

Melisandre = 3 - She gets naked alot, which is cool. But obviously pretty nasty

Ygritte = 6 - Meh, at this point take her or leave her. Well, never mind... We saw what happens when people leave her...

Bran = 5 - Don't much care at this point. Trifling story line to me right now, though I'm sure its significant.

Arya = 7 - We are likely developing a very cold, nasty and vengeful little girl here, but had a tough go.

The Hound = 5 - Not because I don't care, but because I don't think there's a character I go back and forth on as much as him...

Theon = 3 - Miserable little turd. I feel sorry for him for.... that. But that's about it at this point.

Varys = 7 - Generally like "him" at this point... Seems to lean more toward a good person than a bad one.

Samwell = 5 - Dont' much care at this point. Get where you're going and stop wasting time on this guy!
