He gets his weed from Ricky Williams.
I didn't realize how similar the circumstances are with the Cavs bringing in Sanders and the Bulls signing Williams aka Dele.

Their roads have several parallels.

Let's just hope Larry doesn't end up as alligator bait because his brother pulls a Cain and Abel on his ass.

Many Chicago Bulls fans will probably remember Brian Williams, the 6-9, left-handed hulk in the middle who helped hang banner No. 5 during his lone season in Chicago.

After sitting out nearly the entire 1996-97 season, Williams signed with Chicago for the last nine games of the regular season and proved to be a key acquisition in the playoffs, especially against the Utah Jazz in the NBA Finals.

Two seasons later, Williams – who had officially changed his name to Bison Dele – was out of the NBA of his own volition, walking out on the final five years and $36 million remaining on his contract with the Pistons, choosing instead to travel the world.

That's some interesting stuff. If Larry Sanders isn't the right fit w/ the Cavs by the end of the regular season can they get rid of him & pick up Colonel Sanders?:noidea:

and thats EXACTLY what you dont do when you are teh superior team- let the other team dictate the style that you play.

Then why sign Bogut and why sign Sanders when Bogut broke his leg?

Superior teams don't have their best player crying for more help.

oh NO!!! Vucevic scored a bunch of points and rebounds against the Cavs but the Cavs won!!! what are we gonna do!!! LOL

Neither the Warriors or the Cavs have a "true center" on their roster that will play major minutes--- ya know why? you dont need one to win a title.

I suppose the Cavs could have paid Timo Mozgov a bunch of money to rot on the bench- but - it seems like we were beaten to the punch! lol

all a true center that played any minutes would do for the Cavs is suck up cap space they can and have expended on more important positions.

neither the Cavs or Warriors have a true center playing any real minutes- and OF COURSE- they are HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE favorites to get back to the Finals in their respective confernces- for very good reasons.

All the Cavs and Warriors have done is proven that you dont need a real center to win in the NBA. Its going the way of the dinosaur- lol.

it seems like the vast majority of people who think you need a traditional center to win in the NBA are older fans that have let the game pass them by.

the main reason for it- of course- is that post play is just not nearly as efficient as it used to be.

an offense based around a center is an offense that is going to fail. An offense based around spacing, and 3's and a big that can shoot? - now that is an offense that is going to work.

I mean- look at all the best teams in the league right now- which one has a top 10 center?

Warriors, Cavs, Celtics, Rockets, Wizards, Raptors, ???? no, no, no, no , no , no- its just not that important. MUCH MUCH more important to have a team that can shoot with multiple perimeter/wing players that are versatile.

when yo uget to the SECOND TIER- you finally get a few- Jazz, Clippers, Hawks, --- but as we all know- there is a better chance Larry Sanders starts for the All Star team next year then there is for those teams to win it all. lol.

You act like the reason those teams cant win is because they have a C, which is ludicrous.

Put James, or Durant, or any superstar on a team with an elite C and it would just make their job that much easier.

Also like how you leave the Heat/Whitside off.
Did the Cavs win those games?

Then why did the Cavs sign Bogut who is a true center? With every post, you just continue to show how little you know about basketball.

Here's a clue for you...a team that has a decent center was able to stay in the game because their center put up very good numbers against them. The Cavs won, because they are better at pretty much every other position. If Orlando had the advantage at one other position, the Cavs likely lose.

But hey, feel free to keep embarrassing yourself. It's the one thing you actually excel at.

That's what's so hilarious. Dude claims to be "ridiculously more informed than anyone else on these boards" but can't grasp the simplest of basketball concepts.

I see James was pushing 40 minutes again last night.

Seems like its not very often when the Cavs are able to rest starters in the 4th, unlike last year.

If that's the case, then signing Bogut made no sense. What makes no sense is your theory that the Cavs brought him in as an "afterthought."

Honestly,

I think the Cavs signed Bogut so others couldn't. Rostering a GS insider could also be helpful for other reasons.

Bogut is a good player, but his skill set does not fit particularly well against Golden State. Thompson is far better defending in space, which is what you need against them.

Larry Sanders is highly unlikely to contribute anything of significance, but the crazy thing is that he theoretically has the ability to do some of the things that make Thompson so valuable against the Warriors. Bogut really doesn't.

I should also say though, Bogut's presence would help a lot against SA or some of the top ECF teams (Toronto, Miami, Washington).

I tend to agree to a point. Sanders is a better athlete than Bogut. So, as you say, he does have the ability to possibly do some things that Bogut couldn't.

However, Bogut does bring some interior defense that the Cavs lack. They are a good bit worse defensively this year than they were last year and I think that's more of the reason the Cavs signed him. He's not going to be stepping out to the 3 point line to defend, but he is a solid rim protector. There is definite value in that.

Plus, if they brought Bogut in, just to keep him away from other teams and have a Warriors insider, they still have that with him not playing. He broke his leg, not his brain. So, they still get the benefit of his knowledge about the Warriors. The fact that they moved so quickly to sign another big after he got hurt, tells me they were looking for him to be more than just a "spy."

I just think the idea that a championship contender is signing guys this late in the season as an "afterthought" is pretty funny. Those kinds of signings are made by teams like the Lakers who are starting to prepare for next year and seeing if they can get lucky with a reclamation project or a guy who maybe just develops late.

If a team is a contender and they are signing someone this late, they are doing so because they think that player provides something they will need at some point in the playoffs. Even if it's just a guy to go into the game for 8-10 minutes and bang some guys around.

I kind of got ahead of myself with my comment there.

He helps against any team with quality big men. I tend to view the Cavs/Warriors arms race only in how new additions will help in that specific matchup. The irony is that in light of injuries, the possibility that somebody other than Cleveland or GS make the finals is greater now than ever before. I still think that is the matchup we will see, but the door is open a little now.

Because there is no guarantee we play GS. Bogut would have been very useful against a team like the spurs(and possibly some east teams), but pretty much useless like mozgov was when we played gs

The reason they are signing these players late is because they didn't have any money to do it earlier. Not to mention birdman their backup center got injured so they were looking for a backup for thompson. Not sure what is so funny about that lol

It may have been a blessing because sanders may actually be the better fit and player if we end up playing gs, should be interesting
