I'm not saying they wouldn't be better. But again, the players that are responsible for this championship caliber defense are left overs from this supposedly bare cupboards that Hoke left behind. But just like every program out there, Harbaugh will have a rated recruits that will flop.

The bare cupboard has to do with 90% of his top recruits leaving the program and/or being busts before Harbaugh even got on campus. No there was some talent left over I am not refuting that, but imagine if those top recruits weren't all busts either. There wasn't as much talent as people were made to believe. Rich Rod had 5 and 4 star players that were very good and he drove them out of the program because he didn't find time to fit them in his scheme.

He did have some high ranking classes, but also missed on pretty much every high ranking recruit he brought in. The top 7 players from one of the classes he brought in, were all busts. He had 2 five star recruits. Both were busts. The best QB he brought in was a RB, brought in by Rich Rod.

So on top of not being able to develop talent, he also brought in solid classes, but the elite guys he signed were worthless. Some haven't even seen the field and others have left the program.

Dude look at the ratio of high rank busts in Hoke's classes. It's astounding. I showed that to Across the field not to long ago and he agreed with me after the fact.

Yeah I'm saying Harbaugh didn't even have a shot at a lot of those kids. It's a shame. Many players from Shula's classes including guys like Andre Smith actually panned out.

I actually lose a pal (just a former co-worker) over fighting about RR. Dude loved MI so much, no matter what we did it was awesome to him. Dude didn't care that all of a sudden we were losing to B1G teams we hadn't lost to in 65 years. He got so sick of me ripping on RR and begging him to be fired he just stopped talking to me. We have Lions fans like this too. Guys who loved Mayhew. I think the real fans are loyal to the program, not to whatever it is the program is doing that day.

JLS was a disaster. Him and Bobby Williams. No arguing. Took MD a bit to turn it around thanks to him

Neither had the competition that MI does with the current tOSU program. Apples to oranges. Do you really think MI was ever one of the top 3 programs in the nation this year? I don't.

Not only Ohio State was good this year, but besides Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin were also very good this year, the Big Ten was much better that the SEC this year. Hell it wasn't even close. The BIG 10 was by far the best football conference in the nation this season.
