I came over from Europe in the late 60's and love this country. My parents made big sacrifices to make sure we came to this land of opportunity and freedom. Fuck all this hippee, commie, fake people and the ones here that say its ok because of freedom of speech., another country, they kill your whole family. Some cocksuckers here make me sick too

Fuck you

Because of the anthem? What does that even mean? The anthem is a song. It has never provided any freedoms or rights to the American people.

I'm all for patriotism but some of the comments I hear are just complete nonsense when it comes to this stuff.

You know what I would gladly do? I'd trade the national anthem being played at every sporting event if we instead actually took care of the medical needs of our veterans. Id like the country to actually show respect to veterans, not just pretend that we do before watching a handful of millionaires play a meaningless sport.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Why can't people show respect, and push to make our country better? Apathy doesn't help anyone.

I'm a vet. And my VA med benefits are much better than they were 10-15 years ago. Of course people don't respond to stories like mine because it's not sexy headlines. But the truth is that a lot of people put work in to making our country better every day, instead of just whining about simple acts of respect for those same people.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

He didn't do it to protest like he says here. He did it because he is a pouting ,tantrum throwing little child.

Exactly. You think he would have done it if he actually lived up to his expectations and had the responsibilities that go with being a franchise QB? Fuck no.

I would have a little more respect for the tool if he had said " I'm just pissed that I'm not starting."

Haven't bothered reading this thread but my thought is

He has the right to sit, I have the right to think less of him because of it.

I'll just add this.... as posted by me and others, it is his right to protest and it is our right to think he is a waste of skin. However, if we inflicted harm on those that protest, then we are not better than those countries, extremist factions that we have fought in the past and are currently engaging today.

I did serve in the Army (many years ago) myself but got out before this mess started in the first Gulf War. Because of my service, I got my college degree mostly funded by the government. I got my first home loan through the V.A. At this point in my live, I can actually say that this country has given me more than I gave it in my three years of service. Yes, there are some things fucked up in our government but I'll never lose my love for this country.

He has every right to sit during the national anthem. And we have every right to criticize to shit out of him for disrespecting the flag and those who fought for it. Just because you have freedom to say whatever you want does not excuse you from the consequences of your actions.

If he wants to go all pity whore with that 2% of him that is black, we all see it. Maybe he should change his name to mohammed, or jones, or smith from Kaepernick.

This great country has this stiff being paid 19 million dollars, Pro atheletes are rarely speaking out about Black violence, even if its to tell the 99 out of 100 black people who are killing other black people instead of saying shit about the 1 that is killed by a police officer, even if the police officer is black.

Once, just once, I want to hear one of these fucks crying that 911 did not show up in time.

Maybe someone should tell that bum qb that he is a zebra #1, and a millionaire #2.....Then there is the fact that another zebra has been holding the highest office in the land for the last 8 yrs, a black man and woman has held the SOS position in the white house, and a fat ugly no talent whatsoever black woman has her own tv network and is filthy rich name of Oprah.....I always called him Kopatrick because I knew he was a phony from the git....
How these idiots can proclaim being held back is beyond reality, there are so many other races including whites that will never see a million dollars in their whole life, but this bozo thinks his people are being oppressed...
It's obvious this moron would be sweeping the floor at burger king if college grants and football hadn't of saved him..
Don't like this country, get your whining zebra butt out of it.....:mad2:

If playing the anthem is for every American, then why do we deride an American's decision to not stand during the anthem? It's fine to think that the person is stupid but I swear people react as if Kaepernick killed somebody.

I wish there was half as much outrage about some of the things that the government has done or failed to do.
I actually have less respect for Ricky Roma. No one is saying Kaep doesn't have the right to not stand. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

No proven fact but he states his dad was black and never cared for him. Curious why he wouldn't be pissed off at his loser dad and not the people who gave him a chance to make millions.

Yes some of these clowns need to live overseas in an oppressed government for a while. Maybe 90 seconds won't seem like such a sacrafice to them then.
I'm hurt.
No you're a douche.

I read a story about how he's engaged to some Bay Area radio host, and she's a prominent member of the Black Lives Matter movement. I couldn't care less, but I just want the guy gone. SF is swallowing his salary this year anyways.
