That felt good. Felt like we were getting Halak'd all series but won anyways. Jones kept this closer than it should've been, he was phenomenal.

Sharks weren't as bad as some will pretend, but the story will be the system that won with THAT defense, and 3 balanced lines. I don't think it's replicable, real lightning in a bottle type series.

Go Pens!

This pens team jelled at the right time, the three lines were killer. If they keep this team together, they will be a big threat for a couple years.

Good series, Sharks' fans.

I'm so happy, not just for the Pens to win, but for Phil to win, and to give Daley and Dupuis the Cup first.

Also, this, obviously.

Remarkably similar to '09. They have most, if not all, of the lineup back next year, but we know how hard it is to repeat. Teams will be more ready for them next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they try Kessel with Sid or Malkin again, I don't know if the strategy works twice.

Bull shit, didn't score in the finals, blowme.........fucking rigged!!!!

C'mon now. It was him or Kessel. I would have given it to Kessel, but I can understand why voters chose the player with better 200 foot play, worse linemates, who continuously drew the harder matchups.

To me Jones made this a series, LeTang was the best Pens player in the finals and yes Kessel had a great full playoffs. Sid disappeared (cancelled out) in many games.

But no matter!

Sid also had the single best player game of anyone in the playoffs when the Pens possessed the puck 80% of the time or something ridiculous like that when he was on the ice against Tampa. I think that's as good an illustration of the MVP performance he put forth as anything. Not scoring, just total control of the opposition.

I can agree, I kind of forgot how well he did play in the ECF.

Ahh, the Crosby hate sustains me.

Real talk, Sid was fantastic. Beyond the numbers too. No one guy had a great enough Final to catapult over him. I think if Phil scores another pair in the Finals it's his. Murray...well, considering he was probably the weak link in games 3/5 hard to give it to him. Jones made the strongest case, but you have to win at least 3 for that to happen. Sid was thrown out against the Sharks big line consistently and handled it very well. And his ECF was ridiculous. And his trophy case is pretty well stocked now, so hatas gonna have to live to hate another day.

Not hate on my end. I just thought the NHL went the wrong way with the Conn Smythe. LeTang or Murray should have won.
Edited my post...I disagree on Murray. He was a difference maker in the Caps series, and was more a survivor in ECF-SCF. The kid won, so who really cares, but that glove hand led to some stinkers. Letang I can see, he was best in SCF, but had a rough ECF. I don't think it's league pandering, Sid had a solid postseason. In a year where no one player separated from the pack, picking a guy who was consistent and did the little things well is fair.

If you read some of my other post on it. I did say there was nobody that separated from the pack on the Penguins. The whole postseason was a team game, something I can't remember every seeing from them in the almost 40 years I have been watching them. Be it Mario, Mario and Jgar, or Sid and Geno the Pens have always relied on their stars come playoff time. This year was different.

Murray because he is a rookie Goalie who won 15 games. Yes a lot of the games he seemed to be just good enough to win, but at other points he had to stand on his head to give the Pens a chance.

LeTang IMO was the best Penguin throughout the entire playoffs. He had his moments where he loses his temper and reverts to some bad habits, but they were few this year. He was also by far the most clutch during the Finals

Crosby I do agree with you he did a lot of the little things you look for your captain to do, but he seemed to disappear for the first few games of the Washington Series.
