I think this SCF will be good for the league. A couple teams who play an aggressive offensive game, teams with some speed.

The last two rounds the Pens have played were great because of the focus on skill on the Lightning and Capitals roster, and the willingness to open things up a bit. San Jose's their own team, but I expect more of the same from them.

Do you know what would also be good for the league. 2 Canadian teams battling for the cup

I think an entertaining aggressive series benefits the league more than big market / marquee teams does. For years people have claimed that big market teams late in the playoffs or finale are good for the league and they may for those series but there never seemed to be a carryover of interest into the next round or season. Maybe two fast teams that don't sit back will have a series that creates some interest that will last.

Either way, the league is fine and doesn't necessarily need to grow.

//Any ESPN board people remember the idiot that started posting every year around the playoffs and would argue if we were really fans of the league we should all cheer for the two biggest markets to make it to the finals?

Hah, I don't remember that...but we had NYR-LAK a few years ago and I found it kinda boring. And I don't think the ratings were all that sterling. Certainly don't think that series brought about a ton of new fans. Those teams having success is good. Chicagos fan base has grown a ton, LA got a fan base, but the kind of fans that became new hockey fans aren't necessarily the kind to watch when their team isn't involved.

Bigger ratings tomorrow - Sharks - Pens game 1 SCF or Thunder - Warriors game 7 WCF?

Has there even been a SCF in which a total of 4 goalies started at least one game?

I can see it happening this year.

And any SportsHoopla board people know that one of our own luminaries developed a system that would help increase the odds of this happening.
