Are you asking if Lance ruined and threatened to ruin careers in order to keep his doping private? I think quite a few people have come out saying that's exactly what he did to them. Other racers, teammates, trainers, people who worked with him. Suing reporters just trying to report facts with defamation suits.

That's a big reason I chose him, was not only that he cheated, but how he bullied and ruined other careers to cover it up.
I'm saying he never ambushed anyone and beat me down with a tire iron. You have Lance as a bigger cheater, I have Tonya.

I think my thing with what you were saying is was the "everybody was also cheating" thing. He took it to a criminal level. But I can understand going with the one that tried to take out the competition with a blunt object to the knee.

Kerrigan did have the best olympic quote of all time.

Kerrigan tarnished her own reputation with an on-air complaint about a delay in the medal ceremony after she was told Baiul was reapplying her makeup (in reality, no one could find a copy of the Ukranian National Anthem, saying “Oh, come on. So she’s going to get out here and cry again. What’s the difference?”

That's true... Of course Tanya never ambushed anyone either. According to the guy who testified it wasn't even her idea, she was just had knowledge of it (and later covered it up). And while it was the US national championships, it wasn't like she knocked Kerrigan out of the Olympics (her goal).

Brady/Belichick I don't think get in there. As serious as that was, you don't have the direct link to on field performance, you can infer that (I do), but it isn't like Danny Almonte playing at the age he was which directly impacted their ability on the field to win for example. It is debatable though.

I may actually lean more towards other here, seems pretty heavily leaning just on the past 25 years or so. Chinese gymnists not in there (newer I know) E German olympic swimming. Rosie Ruiz in the 1980 Boston Marathon, Maradona Hand of God in the 86 world cup.

Fred Lorz might be mine in the 1904 Olympics. #1 olympic sport was the Marathon, basically the top worldwide event for 4 years and at that time all of the famed marathons were sprouting up from it. And Fred won it by catching a ride in a car during the race after he dropped out. He waved to the fans and competitors as they drove him back to the arena where the finish was, and when he got there hopped out, ran across the finish line, took a picture with Teddy Roosevelt's daughter and was about to get his gold before he was finally outed. Granted the "actual" winner had to keep taking a mix of Brandy and Rat Poison during the race and his trainers carried him the final bit of it. Can I just say the 1904 Marathon? lol

I guess in comparison of the personal involvement and the effect and the stage of the act that one wins it for me to be honest.

Rosie, wasn't she the one who jumped into the Marathon at the end and claimed the win? Now that's a fucking cheater.
There are plenty of cheaters in sports, but IMO, physically trying to eliminate your opponent takes the cake. I'm not saying those who picked Lance are wrong just that I don't agree.
If I were in competition and others were roiding I'd probably do it too, and I doubt I'd admit freely. What I wouldn't do is try to eliminate my opponent. I don't like the fact Baseball was/is roided up, but I've come to accept it. Same with Cycling, I've accepted the riders were not clean. If all of the Olympics roids up, I'll accept it, but not like it. Now if just one Country is roiding I say kick their asses out.

yup, that is tough to argue against... Of course Mike Tyson went for it himself where others seemed to do it for her. That's my two things, didn't have the biggest effect (she competed in the Olympics) and didn't do it herself. But hard to argue with the brutality of the act that happened.

Same with baseball for me on the situation, Lance going above and beyond is why I lean his way some. Same with Baseball. guys like Braun and A-rod I push higher than Bonds/Sosa/McGwire, and that group.

So if Nancy was knocked out of the Olympics it would have been worse? I guess Nancy was lucky the Harding camp didn't know you could contract professionals to do the job.
I'm a Yankee, and ARod hater, but I'm even over his story. It is what it is at this point. I still think MLB players are juicing.

I think the level of the competition matters. Say a MLB pitcher using tar in a reg season game vs. game 7 of the World series. Or Maradona's Hand of God. If that's in a league play game, so what. But it was in the quarterfinals of the world cup and helped them win it all.

I think if Kerrigan was knocked out of the Olympics that would have made that bigger to me (not that it wasn't already). Think if spygate happened with a team like Oakland... It's tough to name anything close to the level of the Olympics in figure skating.

The reason I put Spygate on Tom Brady as well is because he was obviously complicit in the cheating and was the one person who benefited the most from it. He had all the opposing teams hand signals and audible calls and used it to his advantage. He, by using that advantage, is just as guilty of the cheating in my opinion.
Thank you for showing your lack of football knowledge:yes:

I'll say this, as far as I'm concerned there is no wrong answer here, it's our opinions, if we all saw things the same way this would be one boring world.

Oh yeah... I should preface my thoughts with the fact that they are mine and my own and in no way do I think they are anywhere near being for sure the right ones. What happened in that Kerrigan thing was truly epic. Did you see the 30 for 30 on that?

No, at least I don't remember seeing it, it did see a show on it years back.

It was worth a watch.. It's on netflix. Harding tries a bit too hard to play the innocent bystander, but had a few moments where you did realize she wasn't the mastermind or the person who carried it out. Kerrigan wouldn't take part in it but I think it was her husband who did.

But it really did show how far those two were apart. Kerrigan had this nice training center and everything and Harding would practice in a public hockey rink after their practices... She was living in some crappy apt right around the height of her fame (before being famous for the injury). Def the pressure sure got to her. Doesn't excuse her acts at all, and like I said you kinda feel that she and sometimes the show is trying to paint her in a better light, but really good.

They definitely came from different sides of the tract. Maybe Tonya having to work harder to get a shot played into it. I never believed she was clueless of the act, maybe she was, I've been wrong one other time.

Mediation proposal: they all cheated, so we need to categorize the level of cheating. According to poll figures, tabulation and graphs are breakfast material. The conclusion can be reached that these treacherous athletes did everything they could to amuse and annoy fans. They did their job!

For the most part I'll agree, except for the Pats they took cheating too damn far.

Yeah, pushing the envelope, whatever you want to call it. One thing's for sure: it worked!

Said it before and I'll say it again, if Dallas won by cheating I'd still cherish that trophy. In the words of Al Davis "Just win baby".
