Well if you are going to force her to experience Chico's, at least take her to Cattleman's at Fabens to offset the torture of Chico's.

Sheeet, my parents are from Fabens and i'll be staying at my grandma's in Fabens. I don't leave there without going to cattleman's.

Whenever I would make the drive from Scottsdale to the D/FW, I would stop at this little Mexican restaurant in Van Horn. Forgot the name of it, but their cantina was called the Madden Room. The owner told us John Madden and his crew would eat their about 3-4 times a year during football season when he traveled on his big ass bus every year. That room was full of pictures with Madden and other famous coaches/athletes. Good food, too.....

Chuy's. Chuy's son is running it now. Chuy passed away about 8 years ago.

That room was called the Madden's "Haul" of Fame.

Per the article posted by @GoldRusher .

This is what I've been thinking all along.

"The conference TV network has become a status symbol in college athletics. Vanity compels the conferences without one to push for it even as the marketplace pushes back. Woe be the conference that attempts to buck this trend and finds itself the line in the sand over which the cable companies will not budge."

Mike Gundy went off on the LHN:

Mike Gundy: Texas network a 'failure,' elimination key to Big 12 stability

Basically states that Texas had better wise up or the Big 12 is going to fold. Looks like the Oklahoma schools are starting to gang up on the LHN it will be fun to see who is next.

Of course nobody else is going to step up because private networks are the wave of the future and everyone in the Big 12 is totally fine with that - Texas Fan

Oklahoma State is simply trying to do what Oklahoma is doing.
The Okie schools want the LHN gone.

They don't want a Big 12 Network.
That is not the actual plan....only the removal of the LHN.

Oklahoma fans openly admit it.
That actually gains me newfound respect for Sooner fans.

They know that the LHN is the only thing preventing the PAC-12 marriage.
If Texas gets rid of the LHN, then the PAC-12 marriage happens.
There will never be a big 12 network with Texas part of it....that makes zero sense for UT.

Oklahoma State is delusional though.
They are counting on the Oklahoma legislature to force OU to take them along.

That is very risky.

OU makes more from their Tier 3 than the Pac 12 does with their network. So OU and okie light are just using the LHN as an excuse so they can rub shoulders with Stanford and Cal. Their athletics will suffer, but maybe they get some academic dollars.

WTF? They do want a conference network and know the LHN has to go in order to do it. It makes no sense to say they are just trying to get rid of the LHN but don't want a conference network...none.

Man the ACC had to give away their Tier 3 rights to ESPN for nothing, talk about a conference that needs to blow up.
Swafford is the worst negotiator in CFB and he should be allowed to retire immediately and find someone who can get the job done.

No, they really don't. There aren't enough TV markets for a conference network in the Big 12. A Big 12 Network would be a massive failure of epic proportions. I am with Lance on this one. Get rid of the LHN and this paves the way for OU and their little bro to try and get into the Pac. On the other hand, if the Big 12 does expand with 2 more teams that have good TV markets, then a conference network would work. I notice Gundy only called out Texas. He also needs to convince WVU, OU, KSU and KU to give up their private networks and lucrative 3rd tier rights contracts.

IDK, Larry Scott is right up there as far as being a shitty negotiator.....

Texas will never ever agree to stick around and form a big 12 Network for 1 million a season.
That would put Texas 15 million behind the Big 10, PAC, and SEC schools for no reason whatsoever.
The OK schools are gambling (correctly) that TEXAS leaves rather than do that stupidity.

The Oklahoma schools don't want any part of the Crapfest Big 12 Network.
If you believe that, there is a bridge for sale in Brooklyn.

They want out.
They want to go West, but they need a LHN-free Texas to make it happen and sell it to the PAC.

Hence, the Okie schools need the Longhorn Network gone.
They don't want a Big 12 Network....... they just want the Texas barrier removed so they can all move West.

The Okie schools are not stupid.

Scott is just being overly conservative but I do give him credit for not giving up controlling interest of his network. I have no idea why the B1G did that.

Because now the pac 12 network only generates 1mil a year, where the big ten and SEC networks go for what, 5mil a year per school?

The PAC could find a partner and sweeten the pot considerably at any time but right now they are in prime position to do two things:

1. Expand.
2. Gravitate to an online product.

That makes them more flexible than any other conference by a long shot and they have no partner that they have to get permission from or renegotiate with to do either. I'm not sure what Scott's justification was for making the moves he did but he is in better positioned for a long play than anyone else.

If the Big 12 blows up he picks up 4 teams in the central time zone in new markets and all of sudden the cash will fall from the sky. Again I'm not sure he did this by accident or if he was a better visionary then the rest of us but kudos regardless.
