Why don't we start by definind elite? If there are 32 starting QB positions how many QBs should be considered elite?
I personally would say 3 max. That's roughly 10% of the league. I could possibly see 5 max but any mote that that are we talking elite status? I don't think so.
So using that definition Bazooka Joe is not elite. His contract is that's where his comparison to elite should stop.

Actually you can have ZERO Elite QBs. Just being the best of very good to average doesn't make you elite.

Tough one. Before this season I had 4 elite QB's. Rodgers, Peyton, Brees, and Brady. All won SB's, SB MVP's, reg season MVP or Offensive POY, and were in the top 5 or 6 of every major statistical category the past 8-10 years volume, wins, efficiency... Sustained great play there over multiple years. Those 4 won every single first team all pro roster spot at the QB position since 2003. Accounted for the last 9 times a QB won MVP and the last 6 QB winners of offensive player of the year awards. Those 4 led the league in TD passes 12 times since 2000, 11 times in passing yards. In passer rating 8 times since 2004.

Obviously Peyton has fallen out of that group. Guys like Ben, Wilson, and Cam are starting to push up towards it.
