They didn't need it, first of all, and that Carolina D ain't no joke either....Just because a team don't have to throw 50 times in a game like Tommy boy because they have no run game and can't depend on their D to hold the opponents like the Pats, don't mean they're not good at their job....It means they have a balnced team and a different formula to win...
Brady does what he needs to do to win and so does PM and other good qb's.....Put your hands together in front of your face, now stretch them all way out to your sides, that's how you broaden your view of things....
You're welcome !!:rolleyes2:

I was a little shocked about how little Manning did throw... I mean with Sanders and Thomas how could you not? However, CJ Anderson is a beast and he broke free and the Panthers couldn't really seem to stop him. Eventually one would think relying soley on a defense would come back to haunt a team... But last night the way the Broncos D was performing how could you not put it in their hands... They were GREAT!

It's pretty ridiculous how easily troll threads gain traction here. @Rock Strongo @HammerDown me, and some of the other Pats fans can post a troll thread, and just sit back and watch people argue about nothing. I wonder why people haven't figured us out yet? :noidea:

You mad bro?

I think he and I are both a little miffed, the Steelers were handling the Broncos nicely until Fitz Toussaint fumbled away the game...Brown would have come back, perhaps Pouncey....ah to what could have been...

Sarcasm.
I was referring to the game in general.
Only pass on both sides in today's "Pass Happy" NFL.
Actually a good defensive game.

You must be speaking as an Ohio State Suckeye fan, their Cheaters too, like the Cheateriots.

Leave it to a meeeechegan fan to have no sense of humor @ all.

Of course you did, you're from Boston. That's most Bostonian's natural state.

I'm from Boston as much as you are from Jersey. How's your neighbor Snookie?

I'm not worried about Brady's legacy at all.

The fact that you have to mention Brady's legacy shows that you are. The intelligent football fan knows what Brady's or the Patriots legacy is all about.

1 reason he didn't throw too much was a thing called Norman and another is because of Kuechly and the pressure of that dline...
PM was reading their D and taking what they gave him and doing it well....How many times have you heard Brady and BB talk about taking what the D gives you....The old man did an awesome job, recouped from a challenging year with injury and went out with a convincing SB win over the newest craze hot shot team in the league...
Yes the D can be just as important as the O if they are good enough, and 1 thing is for sure, that D was in the great category....They overcame all obstacles and won the big one with the oldest qb to ever win a SB...
Of course they had like 6 ex-ravens and our OC help them do it but Admirable non the less...:D

That he does and he is one of the best (if not the best) at doing exactly that.

And further more, gotta give props to @bksballer89 He went out on a limb and predicted who he thought would be Super Bowl MVP, did NOT name a quarterback, and he got it right!
GOAT?

Hmm....

JOE MONTANA, San Francisco 49ers
Super Bowl XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV
Montana won all four of his Super Bowl appearances and was named the MVP three times. The only Super Bowl Montana was not named the MVP was XXIII, although he did lead a 92-yard drive with just under three minutes left in the game to beat the Bengals.

TERRY BRADSHAW, Pittsburgh Steelers
Super Bowls won: Super Bowl IX, X, XIII, XIV
In just six years Bradshaw won four Super Bowl titles with the Steelers, becoming the first quarterback to win three and four Super Bowl rings. Bradshaw was named the MVP of Super Bowl XIII and XIV.

TOM BRADY, New England Patriots
Super Bowls won: Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX
Brady won the Super Bowl in his first season over the St. Louis Rams and also won the MVP of the game. He led the Pats down the field setting up the game-winning field goal. He won back-to-back Super Bowls in 2005-06 beating the Panthers and Eagles. In Super Bowl XLIX, Brady again was named MVP as he went 37-for-50 for 328 yards and four touchdowns. He threw two fourth-quarter TDs as the Patriots erased a 10-point deficit.

And for the "half as goods":

Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos
Super Bowl XLI, 50
Manning won two Super Bowls in his career, picking up his first with the Colts before winning Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos in what may be his final career game. He also played in Super Bowl XLIV with the Colts and Super Bowl XLVIII with the Broncos.

ELI MANNING, New York Giants
Super Bowl XLII, XLVI
Manning was twice named the Super Bowl MVP as he twice led the Giants to come-from-behind wins over the Patriots. In Super Bowl XLII, there was Manning's throw and David Tyree's "helmet catch" that led to the game-winning TD catch by Plaxico Burress. In Super Bowl XLVI, Manning was 30-for-40 for 296 yards and a TD.

And now for the better than any Manning, anytime:

JIM PLUNKETT, Oakland/L.A. Raiders
Super Bowls won: Super Bowl XV, XVIII
Plunkett won both of his Super Bowl appearances in 1981 and 1984. He was named the Super Bowl XV MVP in a 27-10 win over the Eagles. Plunkett completed 13 of 21 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns becoming only the second Heisman Trophy winner to be named Super Bowl MVP after Roger Staubach.

And the best of the rest:

KURT WARNER, St. Louis Rams
Super Bowl wins: Super Bowl XXXIV
Warner had a monster game against the Titans en-route to being named the MVP. He went 24-for-45 with 414 yards and two touchdowns. The 414 passing yards and 45 attempts without an interception were both Super Bowl records.
