Barnwell made an interesting point. The Vikings are one of the kicker reliant teams in the leagues. They are one of 5 teams to kick more field goals than score touchdowns.

Cold weather has a noticeable impact on the performance of kickers. This could be a factor on Sunday.

between 60 - 70 degrees and sunny most of the year. Sure those 3 months of extreme heat are brutal, but the other 9 months make it well worth it.

Today is an extreme weather day in phoenix. A low of 45 and rainy. Time to bust out the heavy jacket, gloves and beanie.

45 degrees is sweatshirt weather with no jacket the hell with the heavy jacket, gloves and beanie

Yikes!
You picked the coldest week to visit.
I was hoping to get down to AZ for a couple weeks, but looks like that won't be happening.

Well call me lucky. We have expanded to the entire mid-west all together. In the past 2 months, I have spent time in WI, IN, Il, KY, IA.

MN & MI are next.

I hope I got those abbreviations right. :noidea:

Well good luck. There's plenty of places to warm up while you're here.
Thanks. I will make the most out of the visit. I would have been nice to head up for the weekend to see you guys stomp the chickens.

This and the potential impact on the passing game are really the only valid points brought up this week. On paper the passing game potential problems would seem to favor the Vikings as they really don't pass as much anyway, but both teams are going to try and feature the run so we won't know until the game which team can get away with not throwing it as much as they don't want to. And even then Wilson has much larger hands so it would seem to penalize TB far more than it should RW.

Just bring on the game already. All this endless talk about cold has already ran it's course.

Interesting graphic.

And before I get lambasted by hawks fans, I realize this has no significance on Sundays game. In their 12 coldest games, the Seahawks are 3-9. None of the games will be as cold as it will be on Sunday.

Sorry, I didn't know how to shrink it.

Reading this thread only reaffirms the fact that non Seahawk fans don't actually watch the game and only watch highlights and peep the box score

At their very core the Seahawks are still a running team. Yes, there has been more of an emphasis to stretch the field and take shots when they are there, but that is all predicated on the success of the running game.

The difference has been Russell Wilson's confidence and his willingness to pull the trigger on big play opportunities. Darrell Bevell's play calling is very intentional. He calls certain plays early on in the game to set up different plays later on.

The key to slowing down this electric offense is to stop the running game.

The Vikings have the best rb in the game, but overall the Seahawks have the better rushing attack. Our offense keeps team more off balanced.

I think if anything this weather will make the Vikings even more one dimensional. Seahawks are going to load up to stop AP and dare Teddy Two Gloves to beat us. If Teddy beats LOB, then all the praise goes to him and the Vikings deserve to move on. But I don't see it.

A week. I've been making successful handicapped tips for years. You just didn't know. Now ya do.

If you like makin' fat stacks, then plug up your diarrhea hole and lay it all on the Vikings to win.....straight up.
You do know what is said about a fool and his vcash don't you?

I know you weren't trying to make conclusions out of that graphic scoob, but what jumps out at me was more what Seattle's team was like in those years than the actual temperature at game time. Only one was with this current team and it was a loss at KC, but weather really wasn't a factor in that game.

And there's a lot of difference between the coldest on that list and zero.

Neither team is used to playing at that temp. Neither has experience at dealing with things THAT cold. It will have some impact on both teams. We won't know who's going to get the worst of it until we see the game.

Need to see what kind of footing they are going to have out there first. Both may struggle with blocking if they can't plant their feet. With a heated field that shouldn't be bad, but we just won't know. If that footing is bad and the Vikings are without one of their key blockers as is, it could be a seriously long day at the office for Peterson. The Hawks can switch up to passing if the run game footing is bad. Not so much Teddy 'small hands' Bridgewater.
