No it isn't a quick, easy question? You think he wants the team he wants to play for to get in a hole? You think he wants to see his teammates perform poor on the field? You think he wants to come in playing with a team in the hole?
If he didn't want those things he would be on the field Sunday. Period.

You seem to think this is a black and white issue: Kam wants money therefore he wants the team to lose.

It's not. I think you've crossed the border of insanity.

It's simple logic. He stands to profit from a loss. He therefor has to be pulling for a loss if he wants to profit, which he clearly does or he wouldn't have held out into the regular season.

He says through the media yesterday that the team is 'being petty' over less than a million dollars in difference and yet he's the one that looks petty holding his team up over a sum that won't be nearly what he's already got racked up in fines. He expects those fines will be waved and he's going to cash in if the team does poorly.

I realize some of you don't wish to see it for what it is, but there it is all out in the open for the world to see.

Oh, guess I really don't know how that sort of stuff works.

If a player is cut, any remaining signing bonus money that was spread out over the life of the contract, immediately hits the cap. Any guaranteed money, immediately hits the cap as well. In Kam's case, his 2015 base salary is guaranteed. So cutting him would result in a $7.65 mil cap hit. Or something in that range.

Seattle is doing the right thing if they stick to their guns. But make no mistake, if for some reason Seattle loses their first 2 games with the secondary partially to blame, Seattle will cave.

No, it isn't simple logic. It's his livelihood, it's his personal relations, it's his legacy, it's him getting bashed by the media and fans for what he's doing, it's everything he worked for in his entire life, and it's also his health and the sacrifices he makes of his body long term to play that game. Where's the "simple logic" with that?

Seattle is obviously trying to keep their salary cap down like a lot of teams. - Captain obvious

But this is the problem you will have after success. R Wilson is gonna want money. Kam wants money. Not sure but where does Kam stack in SS rankings for salary?

My guess is that is why he's doing this. Right or wrong.. It is what it is.

It's cheap. He had his one front heavy deal, wants the 2nd to last year of this deal bumped up, and then on the light final year he'll do the same thing. It's basically double-dipping on his part. It's his body so I won't condemn him too much but I wouldn't pull off something like that at my office.

He signed a contract yes or no
No one made him sign that contract yes or no
He only finished one year of a 4 year deal yes or no
He is now holding the team hostage and causing a huge distraction going into the season to go back on that yes or no
He is still the second highest paid at his position in the league yes or no
He is mostly bent on how newer contracts now are giving larger guaranteed portions of the full contract yes or no

It really isn't that hard and yet you act like someone is making any of this up. I'm not. You are fully entitled to continue to support him and defend him. No one is stopping you. I'm just not going to let you get away with misinformation.

He will benefit from a loss this week and you can't offer anything to say otherwise besides saying it's not true.

There is no part of this that isn't a selfish act. That is simply the definition of what selfish is. That's not up for debate. Kam will be pulling for some of his teammates for sure, but he has to be torn inside. What he's doing is causing harm to the team. It is. You can't deny it. This is a major distraction made by his own hand. You can't blame the team for not giving in to him with 3 years left on his deal. What good is a contract at all if they don't get held to at lest half of it ffs? This is 100% Kam making his team weaker by not being out there and causing these distractions. And his only way of getting what he wants is if the team loses or shows weakness at his position. If those don't happen the team bunkers down and tells him to go pound sand and not only doesn't give in to his demands, but entirely enforces the fines he has accrued.

This is dead simple. It's not complicated.

I'm done arguing with you. 'He will benefit' has nothing to do with the situation. Team wants him no matter how the game turns out. If this were going into his last year they would have given him what he wanted. Believe it or not, the entire world doesn't think like you, no matter how hard you try to argue in the contrary. I think he's a selfish ass because of this. But I wouldn't go so far as saying he's rooting for a loss because it's in his best interest. They haven't even played a game yet and the Seahawks are going way further than they would for anyone else.

I get the feeling that Kam is not the only Seahawk in that locker room that has issues with what they are being paid and many feel they deserve more than what they are currently getting.

If you are out producing some goon in your company x10 and you are being paid not even half of what the goon is being paid... You can renegotiate or walk.

This can't be what most people think.
Of course they want him no matter what. DUH

The question is if they start losing games and have a glaring hole on that phase of the defense do they get forced to give in and move money around for a guy with 3 full years of his deal left? And if he doesn't believe this is the case then why is he still not with his team? What does he gain by missing games if he doesn't believe showing them what they are missing won't force their hand? Give up ANY kind of reasonable conclusion, because so far I haven't seen one from chf or others saying my logic is failed.

And when you cave in to one of your key employees with years left on their deal your door will never find peace after that. The team can't give in to him or say goodbye to any seasons where a contract is a contract. Everyone knows the last year is a joke and neither side normally wants to keep them. Two years out? Has to be something glaring. Major breakout changes and grossly underpaid. Three years or more out? Can't do it. Go pound sand.

Depends on the terms of course and how valuable the employee is I guess. But you know this is coming from other players too, not just Kam. I think many in that locker room get the sense that they are underpaid.

So we are talking planet earth now or are we talking back to back Super Bowl appearances led by their defense with 1 win and 1 bad call at the end loss? These guys know the NFL is a Billion dollar business. It's not like our everyday jobs.. And they know the dude who owns the Seawhaks is loaded.
