Was in divorce court this morning and witnessed a hilarious exchange between the judge and a black female divorce lawyer (with some serious chocolate sweetness in her skin-tight business suit).

[Judge and lawyer rapidly exchanging legalese]

[Judge gets mischievous look on his face as something dawns on him]

Judge: Counseler, we won't be able to ajourn this til Sept. 11. Do you know why not?

Counseler: {rolling eyes} Yes, Your Honor.

Judge: Why is that, counseler? {now grinning from ear-to-ear}

Counseler: Because of the football game.

Judge: Speak up, Counseler! The court can't hear you.

Counserler: The football game, Your Honor.

Judge: Which football game, Counseler? {now openly gloating}

Counseler: {now openly miffed and rolling eyes} The Oklahoma Tenessee football game Your Honor.

Judge: That's right. When court is in session on the 11th, I'll be "pre-gaming." So we'll need to continue this til {looks at calendar} Monday, the 14th.

Counseler: Will Your Honor be in a position to preside that morning? {snickers erupt into laughter}

Judge: Based on my prediction that my Volunteers humiliate your Sooners? I'll be feeling just fine. Thank you for your sincere concern, Counseler.



As funny as this was, I do have to side with the most honoral judge. I expect to see Oklahoma get their peckers pounded into the Neyland Stadium dirt that day. Soundly.

Before you get too excited, I'm not a Tennessee fan (in fact, I dislike them a great deal). But I think they're going to be up for this one and I think that's going to be a very quiet plane ride back to Norman, aside from some choked sobs.

We were dumb teens so I haven't a clue on how dangerous things were. It was entertaining because they would bring people in when they were still somewhat intoxicated, and they'd often get a bit mouthy. The other cases were boring usually, but things moved quickly.
