Well, I'm here now to respond to the shit talking comments that you guys keep baiting me with that have nothing to do with the topic of VT's scheduling of a lower division school. Initially I was here to comment on that topic, of course, before you guys went all nuts/ESPN.

Given your age and intelligence, I find it hard to believe that you acknowledge no connection between UNCC and JMU. It is hardly a random association. If I dropped in on a thread about recruiting and said "JMU" out of the blue then that would be random.
Of course, I might do that just for fun, but would likely make it obviously sarcastic, perhaps by suggesting a 3 star recruit was now going to choose JMU over VT due to the game or whatever. But in this case the connection is pretty clear, and obviously the emotions on the VT side are clouding that.

Scheduling of OOC opponents is a hot topic for debate in general these days, and as an SEC school fan (the conference most often maligned for it) I find the topic of interest to me beyond my own team, which is why I visited the thread when I saw it on the list. If you can't understand that, I'm surprised. I didn't even open the VT team board at all, just the thread on the main list.
As for knowing what was coming next, I must say I had no idea of the level of emotional overreaction that would occur from you guys. If anything, I expected a facepalm or a frown and then a continuance on the topic. You guys decided you'd rather troll me than speak on your own topic, though that is understandable as it is one of the weakest possible scheduling acts ever, considering UNCC is not even a team yet.
Again, I refuse to believe you are unable to see this connection. You are just being a little pest/antagonist/whatever.

As a team that has scheduled Alabama, Nebraskax2, Texas A&Mx2, USC, Boise State, et al in recent years and has future bouts with Wisconsin, Ohio State and Auburn, I do not think adding the occasional lower level opponent is much of an issue.

besides clemson the biggest OCC game -2016 is ECU.

But considering he coaches special teams and we have nearly the worst in the league (haven't had a return for TD in 8 years), I doubt we'd miss him that much if he left.

Not sure you really have any basis for that quote 24/7. And besides, what is the big deal with scheduling a team that doesn't even have a team yet? There is a chance that will change in another 7 years (they may not even play). But if they do??? What is the difference in VT playing UNCC and USC playing Wofford or the Citadel...NOTHING! A few years ago ODU didn't have a football team and they are doing just fine (17-5 in ONLY two years of football). Many division 1 schools schedule cupcakes and the SEC (as you stated earlier) schedules more than its fair share. UNCC will probably be 5 or 6years into its football program by then, will have recruited for as many years and will likely come up with some good ones. Really the only FCS program in the region that they will have to worry recruiting against is Appy. St. There are plenty enough left-overs with good talent in the Southeast and Mid Atlantic, and Charlotte is a nice city that will be attractive to these guys. I could see them ending up in either the Southern Conf. (one of the best in FCS), the Big South, maybe even the CAA (the best in FCS), hell maybe they could even make a new conference with Georgia St. and ODU ( a program that in my opinion could compete for a FCS NC in a few more years).

Well, if you posted something like that on the Clemson sucks page you'd be trolling for sure. I'd just point out that we're in control of the streak now, and that we own you too. After all, it's a thread that's there for shit talking, and those weak comments would be easy enough to counter.

But more relevantly, if I had a thread about USC scheduling Navy this year, and you simply posted "1984" (the year they ruined our NC hopes by beating us when we were 9-0) I'd probably say "YOU FUCKER!" and then go on to make my point about Navy (which would probably be about the $750,000 we're paying them to play). I'd probably even say "uh oh," acknowledging the memory.

It has nothing to do with how we "adjusted to society" after the loss. It is the fact that you went out of your way to make a post that let its interpretation open with negative connotations implied. Did you really think that people were going to be civil after? Clearly you wanted to cause trouble and now are trying to claim you weren't. You're displaying the knee-jerk assumptions of life on a typical message board. SportsHoopla is generally a very friendly and playful place, with a familial feel to it.
