Simple solution... dump the 2 teams that can not win easy out of conference games at home from discussion of playoffs. See ya Missouri and OSU.

Big10 record vs other power conferences was horrible this year, do not deserve a team in the discussion. Big10 needs to state their case vs other power conferences... not after beating up the marginal teams in the Big10.

How can you evaluate the Big10 teams improving? They are playing each other... they are not playing other conferences. The teams from other conferences are most likely "improving" as well. That is why every game counts.... as for "Big10" teams improving during the season, past Bowl records do not suggest that is happening as much as you probably hope.

Big10 is well below 500 playing the other power conferences... the SEC, Big12 are 500 or better playing other conferences... PAC12 really beat up the other power conferences.

You are going to hang your hat on OSU holding off Minnesota.. same Minnesota that got stomped by TCU? Or OSU going to OT with Penn State... who barely beat UCF?

How can you justify sending Big10 team with similar resume vs teams from SEC, Big12 or Pac12 when those conferences did so much better with games vs other power conferences?

If OSU wanted to avoid this, they should have polished off Virginia Tech at home who is near the bottom in the ACC.

Do you think TCU playing Minnesota at home is the same as playing them on the road in November. Did you not watch that game. Did you not notice how many near missed opportunities tOSU had to score and how a freshman mistake basically gave Minnesota their last TD and cost tOSU a sure fire one? Do you think those mistakes would happen if tOSU was playing them at home in September.

You have to be able to analyze games and see which teams are firing on all cylinders. tOSU put up more yards on MSU than Oregon did and they played MSU in their own building.

You don't think J.T. Barrett was only given a limited playbook on his 2nd start after taking over 2 weeks before the season and now has had time to open up and get comfortable.
