Maybe if they won something every once in awhile it would help.

Dave Brandon has done some things right, and others not so much. Namely the policy changes with student tickets.

If college athletes get paid it will only exacerbate the problems. You know schools will use it as an excuse to raise their prices. Prices are never lowered for bad products.

Schools will raise ticket prices to NFL levels.

Stadiums will become graveyards, unless you are the top ten football power schools.

I think my B1G son's student ticket price is $240 for a season ticket. Last year, he sold the season tickets to another student for $270 so he did not have to hassle with the crap game tickets to get rid of. This year he does have three good home games, not sure what he is doing with the tickets.

Nebraska has one good home game, Miami Florida. The other home games are utter garbage.

Last year I attended the Nebraska Purdue game. I bought my tickets online one week before it started, and paid 18 bucks each for two front row tickets right behind the Nebraska bench.

On Thursday I bought three more tickets in the south bleachers for $1.25 each with a 4 buck surcharge. That was 7.75 for my son to sit in. He couldn't find two friends to bring along on short notice, so he had all three seats to himself.

The stadium was still 1/3 empty.

So, this story told us 4 earth-shattering facts:

1) Television, personal media, and overall digital experience are reducing the number of physical attendees but increasing the overall revenue which further moves the future towards a digital experience.

2) In order to help sustain the slowly dying physical experience, prices at the venue are increasing while the raw numbers are slowly declining.

3) Expensive value-added online features and high definition TV programming are enhancing the off-filed experience for virtually free of charge.

4) Entitled fan bases believes they are somehow special and it should not happen to them.

Welcome the exact same problem that every NBA, NFL, NHL, Soccer, NCAA Hoops, and NCAA football team has as well Michigan. Was the writer living under a rock for the last 10 years?

251 games? Damn, Michigan has nothing but fair weather fans...

Congratulations on having a sell out streak including games with little over 30,000 in attendance. Michigan has sold over 100,000 tickets in hundreds of games. Nebraska's streak is zero.

Of course not. I'd just figured I'd point out some simple facts to help you from looking like a fool in the future. Apparently, my efforts were wasted.

How could you be more out of touch? College kids aren't skipping out on games because they have a TV at home. College students have TONS of free time on their hands. Plenty of time for TV or to watch other collegiate/NFL games on TV. The issue is bad seats and a questionable product for $295. That's a ton for a lot of college students.

I went to VT from 2005-2009, and I think my season tickets went up from $8 a game to $9 a game once.

Nebraska would still sell out every game if there were 100,000 seats. So you can toss that argument down the drain.

In the 60s? Unlikely. BTW, you should preface your arguments with "because I say so".
