I mean seriously, guys. We've gotten everything but a gotdamn safety that can cover. Just think back to the last time we had a safety that could cover. Do we have to go all the way back to Woodson? Seriously? We've gotten every fucking thing since then. Found good running backs, wide receivers, offensive lineman, defensive lineman, the list goes on. Hell, we've won a playoff game, we've won the division twice, and through it all we couldn't manage to find one gotdamn safety that could cover? Like I'm sick of this.

I understand we need a DLineman, but man, fuck DLine. Just get a gotdamn safety. For Christ's sake. I'm sick of seeing guys like Earl Thomas emerge while we continuously have bullshit for over a decade. Did we seriously find a pro bowl type quarterback in Romo before a pro bowl type safety that could cover? You would think finding the former would be tougher. We've made finding a great safety seem impossible. This is so retarded how long it's been since we've seen great safety play.

I'm biased here, and maybe it's due to the flashbacks I keep having of #38 in coverage or just how bad safety play has been in Big D for years, but I can't even think DLine. All I'm thinking is safety. This franchise has shown me over the years that they can get everything but a fucking safety. Is getting a gotdamn safety that can cover so fucking hard to get?

I agree with what you say about safety, but I also see the huge need for DL. I think the best first round pick for us other than something unexpected happening is Dix. I've wanted to gran a top safety for what seems like 10 years now! If he isn't there I grab the best DL in the first and if Dix is there I take him and then the best DL in the 2nd round. I probably take a second DL in the first 4 rounds too. I'd like an OL in the first 4 also, but because of our huge need on defense I think we could be best off signing Waters for a 1 year stop gap and that either puts off the problem for a year or gives us another season to see if MB is the guy from 2012 or 2013 and the same with Free...

I agree Earl and I think you and I have been posting dbackfield for 10 years now.

I think there are three that start right away and we must select one with one of our first two picks.

Jerrah keeps drafting SS and trying to make them into FS. I would suggest drafting corners and try and make them FS. Marqueston Huff is a guy I really like in this draft. He has played corner and fs

I realize we need FS that can cover. Games are still won ultimately won in the trenches. You can blame Jerrah for using high picks on players like Fasano,Escobar,Felix Jones,Bennett when we had more pressing needs like findin a safety that can cover. Wilcox is another WTF type player. He looks and plays like a linebacker not a safety

I don't agree with that assesment of Wilcox. I think he has a chance to develop into something, but I'm not willing to take that chance without a proper backup plan in place. He can fight it out with Church and Dix for playing time as far as I'm concerned. Heath should only be on STs or playing in emergencies and Johnson doesn't enter the conversation until he takes the field...

Or just drafting a FS if that is what we need!!!

Johnsson could surprise if he was ever able to make it on to the field. That's a big if.

If Dix is there and we pass on him, I'm going to jail.

Agreed. It really seems like it's been 10 years. And every single year, Jerry has done little to address it. 38 should have been enough for Jerry to see that safety play is required here, but who knows? :noidea:

Pressure on the QB makes defensive backs better. Draft D line.

I understand and fully acknowledge the need for DLine. With that said, the Cowboys just gave up 4500 passing yards. Only two teams were worse. They gave up 33 passing TDs. Only one team was worse. For a line that was ravaged with injury, the Cowboys were still at least decent at rushing the passer. They were well below average in pass coverage. WELL BELOW. A great defensive line isn't gonna make a below-average group that much better. You always get exposed in the secondary when it matters most no matter how great the DLine is. Just ask the Kansas City Chiefs. The same thing happened to us in 2009.

you certainly don't know that as any kinda fact. Pryor has a real chance to be the first safety drafted with a solid combine
I remain good with either of the three mentioned

I've seen 3 different mock drafts so far.

2 of them having us going Safety in the 1st
