Will the B1G ever recover and be considered great again?

As long as we are in agreement.

You're apparently confused about my opinion of the state of the current Texas football program. Or at least were confused prior to my statement...

For the Big Ten to be good OSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Penn St. all need to be ranked teams year in and year out. OSU, Michigan, Nebraska all need to be battling for the top 10. Probably Wisconsin too.

The B1G did focus on football when they added schools. They are supposed to be schools first and sports second.

I know the Big Ten is a fine academic conference but the fan inside me doesn't like the addition of mediocre athletic programs.

Plus Maryland and Rutgers are East Coast schools. Not in Big Ten country. Screw conference realignment.

Every conference does it. The PAC adding Utah and Colorado. SEC adding Missouri and aTm. The ACC adding Syracuse.

Most kids want to go to colleges in states with nice weather, pretty girls and great academics. That is why most of your top athletes come out of Florida and Texas schools.

If that were true ASU and Arizona would be undefeated every season lol.

Top athletes hardly care about academics.

All you have down south that is better than up north is weather. I agree that is a big pull but your others arguements have no basis. The academic argument is particularly funny.

He is an ACC fan, so I will give him a pass on the academics. If that was an SEC or BigXII fan I'd abuse him for the academics remark. I think there is truth to the weather issue ... more so that our kids won't go there, than your kids will come here.

Are you aware that the B1G will open a satellite office on the east coast after Maryland and Rutgers join?

Chicago to NYC is a 12 hour drive. Atlanta to Houston is 11 hours and 30 minutes.

Chicago and Atlanta are probably the heart of B1G country and SEC country as far as major cities go, and expansion has taken both about the same distance. There's not much difference geographically between the Great Lakes and NJ/Maryland. It's not like West Virginia joining the Big 12 or Colorado joining the Pac-12.

The shitty football is the bigger problem.

Too many dead in the water programs at the moment.

Ohio State has teabagged the B1G for a decade, with nobody rising to challenge.

Nebraska, Penn State, and Michigan need to get their shit together.

Wisconsin has been decent, but they lose every bowl game and good OOC game they play.

Michigan State is too inconsistent.

The rest of the programs are a lost cause, im afraid.

Been through this about a million times already.

College Football is cyclical.

Yes, the B1G will be back on top.
Yes, the ACC will be back on top.
Yes, the Big 12 will be back on top.
Yes, the Pac 12 will be back on top.
Yes, the "dreaded" SEC will be back on bottom.

Trust me.

If you ask me, and I realize nobody did, I think Michigan State got robbed. I think they should be playing FSU in the title game. Oh well.

No michigan state didn't get screwed. We might be the better team but we have a worse loss even though it was sketchy at best and not a strong resume. It will be nice to play in a game we have a fair chance of winning.
