and some of their comments:

"I just don't see a scenario where we can possibly win this football game. Baylor has way too many weapons and if we hold them to the high 30's low 40's we will be doing well. I'm really just hoping we can be competitive. If this was in Norman I would give us a shot. They are too explosive "

"I know Bell did not play in the first two games and I certainly think we have improved. But being a 14 point dog is probably giving us some credit for just being OU. If Bell is pressured at all when we have to pass we lose big. If not 14 is probably about right."

"14 sounds about right to me, if OU plays well."

"Hope I am wrong but I think the line is to low.."

"Hope I'm wrong but i see us getting worked by three td s or more. Baylor needs to make a statement... Who else is it better to do it against than ou"

"Baylor is going to take us behind the woodshed. I will be there rooting as loud as I can, but I am expecting to get a d**** shoved straight up my a**. Hope I'm wrong."

"Baylor will roll..."

"If Baylor has at least 3 turnovers we can keep it close. There are 3 common opponents that they stomped and we beat. A true freshman QB just completed 63% of his passes for almost 400 yards against our defense with no running game to help him."

"I remember sitting in the stands for the '03 Baylor/OU game, it was the week after we thrashed A&M 77-0. I half expected us to score 90 that day. And I was thinking "Aww, the Baylor Bear, as threatening as a stuffed one". How times have changed."

"Baylor is going to smash us like a semi hitting an armadillo. Probably. But there's still a chance."

"I give OU a 6.47% chance of winning."

"I give OU a 10% chance of winning. It will require a Notre Dame-type performance again from OU plus a really off night for Baylor."

"Will OU win? I'm not confident, but will be cheering loudly."

"I just hope OU can make it a close game. I don't expect OU to win."

"this OU team is simply not that good... And these cats are pretty good. Gonna have to chalk this one up as not a lot of hope. God help me for saying that, but I simply don't see it based on the eyeball test"

"Awfully hard to imagine OU winning this one. Baylor by 17"

"Tall, tall order. But far from impossible."

"We have the capability to go in there and win or keep it close. I don't think we'll do either."

"I want OU to win 100-0. But realistically, I just dont see a way for OU to hang with Baylor. ... we just dont have the horses to hang with Baylor. 51-30 Baylor."

"Just because a lot of us EXPECT to get beaten by 3+ TDs doesn't mean we WANT it to happen."

"Baylor loses at least one. I don't know to whom, but it just always happens to these teams that get used to scoring 70. No idea how to beat a competent opponent without all the points. Only five games left for them...and one is TCU. So just based on that, there's a 25% chance we're the spoiler, right?"

If Oklahoma runs the ball, I think they have at least a 50/50 shot of winning.

The problem is that they can't help themselves....

No team in the Big 12 can go for long periods without wanting to suddenly throw it all over the place.

Its burned into the Big 12 DNA.

Much, like the Texas game, OU will likely panic early (if the run is mediocre) and start throwing the ball too much.

If that happens, Baylor wins by 25+

Going to play it this way and recover from there.:suds:

You risk a little, to win a bunch....why not. I might put a small bet on Okie ML to cover my losings if my big bet on Baylor doesn't win. Anything in between I am just fucked on.

here's a post from a Baylor fan that compared the mutual opponents:

West Virgina:
-lost at Oklahoma 16-7
-lost at Baylor 73-42, (56-14 at halftime),
Louisiana-Monroe:
-lost at Oklahoma 34-0
-lost at Baylor 70-7, (35-0 after 1st quarter)
Kansas:
-lost at home to Oklahoma 34-19
-lost at home to Baylor 59-14 (38-0 at halftime)

Average Baylor game this year: 63.9-15.9
Average Oklahoma game this year: 31.0-18.8

Pretty easy to see which team is better. And the OU-Baylor game will be played in Waco where Baylor has scored 69, 70, 70, 73, & 71 points despite pulling the starters early in the 3rd quarter every game. Oklahoma has scored over 38 points once this season. Baylor has scored under 59 points once this season. But I guess the doubters won't be satisfied until we beat them head-to-head, which we will 67-17.

BAYLOR is really good at home.

They stink on the road.
In the last 6 season since 2008, this is their conference road wins:
Missouri (8-5), Texas (5-7), Colorado (5-7), Kansas (2-10), (2-6), Kansas State (4-4)

But, they simply don't even get challenged at home anymore.

Baylor at home is the closest thing to sure thing anymore.
Not with that line I'd be scared to take either.

73 o/u

BU 44 - OU 29

I don't think we'll score that many, and I don't think Baylor will either.

Gimme the under.

...and that's all I have to say about that.

another post from a Baylor fan comparing mutual opponents:

Against common opponents, after one quarter...

Baylor 35 - ULM 0
OU 0 - ULM 0

Baylor 28 - WV 7
OU 3 - WV 7

Baylor 21 - KU 0
OU 0 - KU 7

OU can't afford a slow start.

THAT'S WHY they play the games, not because of some stat geek predicting an outcome based on common opponents.:suds:

I hate presicting a game by looking at common opponents. All matchups are different. Of course you have to look at those stats or games, but I do not base my decision off that and that alone. There are so many factors.

I am still not sure about this game. I still think Oklahoma can win or Batlor can blow them out. :gaah:

This is different than the Stanford-Oregon. I think Stanford could keep it close and than an oregon blowout. Sort of like that UCLA-Oregon game

in the prediction thread on BaylorFans, they are pretty much all thinking blowout:

70-7. Oklahoma has no idea the mauling they are about to receive.

Briles and company hold nothing back. It's a massacre.
Baylor 72
OU 16

76-14. I've gone big every week and it has worked so far. We might as well set another FCS scoring record while we're at it, plus I don't think OWho has that great of offense.

I will go 70-15 Bears.

Statement game
BU 73
OU 24

Baylor 72, Oklahoma 17

69-7

69-17, it gon get ugly!

67-17.

62-17 bu

63-17 Baylor.

BU 63, OU 17 (I hate not going 70-17 because I think its going to ruin my sign's streak, so I may change that to 70-17 before kickoff.)

63 - 20 and shiny helmets!

Baylor - 63
OU - 24

66-24 Bears

63 - 20. It is our night.

59-7 Bears.

53 BU - 21 OU only because we let of the gas and pull our starters in the 3rd.

56-23 Bears. This is my conservative guess but I just seem to have an overwhelming feeling that we absolutely blow their doors off. We completely embarass them.

Baylor 51
OU 14

Baylor 59
Okie Light 27

BU - 57
OU - 30

Baylor wins 58 - 23

BU 56

Baylor 56

I predict the Bears manhandle OU 55 - 14.

52-31, bu

56-24

Baylor 55
0 U 23

56 - 24 good guys

56- 21 Baylor wins. This isn't a guess it's what it gonna be!

56 Baylor -21 OU

59-31 Bears

Bears 52
Oklerhomie 20

Baylor 55

I too, just have a feeling that Nov 7 will be a magical night.

52-27 Bears

51-24.

Baylor - 51
OU - 31

51-31 Bears

Baylor 52
OU. 27

it will be 52-20 when the backup defense hits the field.

Baylor 49, OU 21.

The scoreboard will say: 49-28. BAYLOR!

49 24 Bears.

48-27 Baylor

Bu 48 - ou 24

Baylor - 49
Oklahoma - 24

If we start fast: 49-17
If like yesterday: 49-35

45-24 Baylor

Baylor 45
Sooners 24

Baylor 41
OU 28

42-17 bears

BU 42
OU 28

Baylor 42
OU 24

BU on top 49 - 17.

Bears 45 - OU 17

Bears 48
Sooners 27

Bu 48
ou 28

OU goes down by 21.

We'll beat them by 20.

Baylor will win by 17 points.

If we get out to a good start and score early and often (like I think we will), this game will get ugly as BU wins by 4+ touchdowns. If we get off to a slow start, then I predict only a 10 point victory.

Fast start Baylor 58 OU 31 Slow start Baylor 34 OU 31 (I will also probably be having a heart attack)

If our receivers don't have opening drive jitters like they did against KU... 66-21. If they come out with those early drops, 2 score win--40-30.

44-35, good guys.

38-30 BU

Baylor 45-38

Bears: 40
Sooners: 33

41-35 Baylor

42-38 BU

BU -- 34
OU -- 31*
*But not as close as it looks -- Sooners down 34-24 late, gets TD with :12 sec left, tries onside, and we get it to seal the deal. Lots of turnovers and funky ref calls in this one.

Question for those who have already replied to this thread: "Why are so many of you expecting OU to score 21-35 on us?" Do you think their offense is that good, or that our defense is that bad? I, for one, am thoroughly unimpressed with Blake Bell and their offense, particularly their passing game. ... I don't think they'll score that much on us unless it's meaningless scores against our subs....Disclaimer: I have a degree from both Baylor and OU

The only other time Stoops was this big of an underdog was vs Fsu in 2000 and he won straight up. He always plays best as an underdog. OU has althetes Baylor has even come close to seeing this year. If OU can run the ball and control the clock they will be fine. This game reminds of the OU/texas game going into it. Nobody thought texas was going to win as a double digit underdog right?

OU was +14 vs Texas in 2005.

the Stoops Bros comment on the Baylor offense:

Bob Stoops:

Stoops said the Bears like to spread defenses out with Petty and their speedy wide receivers, then attack in the middle of the field with running back Lache Seastrunk, who has rushed for 869 yards and 11 touchdowns. That combination limits the number of things an opposing defense can do, Stoops said.

"You can only do so much, in that ... when they line two guys up all the way out there," he said, pointing one way, "and all the way out there," pointing the other way, "you've got to go out and cover them, so there's only so many left.

"At the end of the day, there's only so much you can do. You have to be able to play. You've got to be able to cover them out there and you've got to be able to stop the run game with what's left in here."

Mike Stoops:

"They have great speed on the perimeter and they use it and they isolate you," he said. "That, to me, is what is stressful about it. They run the football. They create so much room on the football field that most people can't or don't do.

"It's hard to get underneath help because the splits are so wide. It's hard to get people underneath. Everything is isolated and it's hard to buy help for corners and safeties and all of that. Again, they know what they are doing and they are very effective."

If those 60's and 70's by Baylor were only put up passing the ball, I wouldn't hesitate to take OU for the win. However, Baylor runs the ball just as well.

I like Baylor here and if I had a gun to my head I'd take them to cover.

Wait a minute -- I was under the impression that OU won the RRSO this year, since y'all keep saying "well if we would of(sic) done this and this, we would of(sic) won! So we actually did win!"

No, OU just borrowed a page from the texas play book and just didn't show up.

They run the ball well because the pass sets it up, when everyone except the linemen are playing to defend the pass, running gets easy.
