A poster on another board provided this...we've discussed many of the same points here.

Beechurst from BGN posted...

1. WVU set the all-time bowl scoring record under Dana Holgorsen. CORRECT.

2. WVU won 10 games under Dana Holgorsen. Bill Stewart never won more than 9. CORRECT.

3. WVU set opponent yardage records against Oklahoma, a fabled program. CORRECT.

4. WVU set single season passing yardage, TD pass records, single game rushing yardage records, pass reception yardage/TD/number records under Dana Holgorsen. CORRECT.

5. Dana Holgorsen coached WVU to a BCS bowl berth. Bill Stewart never did. CORRECT.

6. Dana Hologorsen turned an anemic offense run by Jeff Mullen to a record-breaking unit. CORRECT.

7. Dana Holgorsen won a road game against a fabled program in front of the largest crowd before which WVU had ever played. CORRECT.

8. Dana Holgorsen's team came within 2 defensive stops (one being a blown official's call, to boot) of beating "champions" Texas, Oklahoma and TCU in his first Big 12 season. CORRECT.

9. Dana Holgorsen allowed Baylor to 'cover the spread' by 3 points on the road with an unranked team in a rebuilding year. Bill Stewart lost by 21 at ECU with the #6 WVU team, Pat White and Noel Devine. CORRECT.

10. Dana Holgorsen has beaten a Top 15 team in each of his 3 seasons, something no other WVU FB coach has ever done. CORRECT.

11. No other WVU coach with a 3-3 record including a win over a Top 15 team and a narrow loss to another had ever been subjected the the ridicule of the press and sycophantic followers as has Dana Holgorsen. CORRECT.

12. Rich Rodriguez was given a raise after he went 3-8. CORRECT.

13. Frank Beamer was 24-40-2 in his first 6 seasons at VT -- including a 2-9 mark in the FIRST and a 2-8-1 record in the SIXTH year of constructing a program. CORRECT.

BB...his haters don't want to hear this stuff....they will bitch and moan about us not winning the title in 2 1/2 years into his coaching career, or his margin of loss, or how they can tell from TV he has lost the team even though the team still fights week in and week out, or always compare him to some past coach when in reality when you compare them apples to apples DH performed to their level in just his first year of coaching, or my favorite the color of his freakin shirt.

DC,

I have heard and read more negative comments about Dana than any I can recall about Bill Stewart or any of the previous head coaches.

Of course, there are many who call him out on using foul language with his players.

There is the constant murmur of alcohol abuse among many of the coaches. They get wasted at the stadium, and have to get high school escorts drive them home.

Dana is a drunk who is over his head.

The staff are all drunks

Luck is corrupt, and is trying to steal money from the good citizens of WV before he makes a quick exit.

Luck, Clements, Huggins and Holgorsen are all morally corrupt. Reflect poorly on our university.

WVU should have never left the BE. WVU does not belong in the Big 12. WVU will never be able to compete in the Big 12.

WVU could recruit better if it stayed in the BE. WVU recruits too much in Texas.

Dana hates Morgantown. Dana loves Texas. Dana can't wait to leave WV.

Dana drove home from Baltimore in a limo. Wouldn't even travel with the team on the bus home.

Dana wears black polo shirts.

Dana quits on his team. Friends of friends have seen Dana not coaching the boys on the sidelines in blowout losses like the Maryland loss recently.

It is beyond ridiculous....

That is why i am so frustrated with this fanbase, we say we pride ourselves on family and community, but we have tore this guy down at every single turn....funny to think this guy started his coaching career at 15-3 and at the first sign of trouble we bail on him, call him drunk or over his head. we have fans out there who think we should be somewhere else than where we are....look at the Ville, they may easily go undefeated and they do not have a shot at the NC. We have fans who for years wished we were part of the national scene in college football, then when a guy like Luck comes in and starts generating the money to upgrade the facilities, hire better coaches across the board they bitch and moan about the old days, which we have all looked at to not be so grand. They easliy want to fire a coach who gets blown out by one of the best teams in the game this year and welcome back a guy who told us we all were not good enough for him and all the while got beat at home by the 91st offense in the country in our programs biggest game. We are to good for a coach to grow here they say "we need a guy with exp" when the exact opposite is wroking at program after program around the country, "we need a guy not to ruin the program" they say when in reality it will be this crappy fanbase that ruins this thing...Hail WVU when we win, when we lose lets bring in the next coach.

Man, you guys are still some crazy bastards...

To weigh in on the topic, WV will be just fine. As long as your University and fan base commit to athletics financially, the results will eventually come. Lean years are part of the process and nobody is immune to it. Sometimes the mix of the team/coaches just isn't there. Other times your players just aren't as good as you maybe thought they would be (Texas for several years now IMO).

Holgerson earned the right to attempt to fix the problems IMO. He was an offensive wizard before coming to WV and did great things his first year. Maybe your players just aren't as good as you think they are? Maybe the ones that are good are just so young they are physically overmatched at this point? Neither issue will be fixed in one season. It's probably going to take a couple to get back to competing for conference championships.

P.S. Please just don't suck in basketball again. Texas is going to be absolutely terrible this year. We need you to knock Kansas of their perch. Obviously nobody else is going to do it anytime soon...

Hey guys don't put much into dads crap stats here, he put the 20 pt number out there so he does not have to count the shut out L's in The Nehlan years some 17-0, 19-0,21-3 L's which today would be the end of the program... Lot most of the crap he spews he twist it to make the glory years that much more special. Or how 8 of the 21 years we finished .500 or worse, but hey at least they were close L's or 14 of the 21 we finished out of the top 25....Or 4-9 in bowl games oh I wonder if he was screaming the program death from the rooftops?..or how about when that great defensive league the big east at its prime went up against the SEC...sure he counted the 41-7 beat down...probably said program would never recover.

DC, 20 points was selected as a three TD loss is a blowout, a 7-0 score, while a shutout is NOT a blowout. Do you want to do 25 points??? Cignetti had eight, Nehlen had 16, Fraud had 6, Stewart had ZERO, Holgorsen has had 6 SO FAR. 30???? Cignetti-6, Nehlen-11, Fraud-4, Stewart ZERO, Holgorsen-4, SO FAR. Nehlen played BY FAR the toughest schedule, his big losses came against sPitt, PSU, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State all top ten teams at the time, look at that 1982 schedule, or the first few BE years, there is NOTHING on the schedule today that comes close to it!!!! As to the 41-7 beatdown, it sucked, but if you remember, our team was struggling with flu, and our best players on both sides of the ball got hurt.

Cignetti was shut out ONCE, Nehlen's teams were shut out NINE times, in 21 years, and as you said, scores were MUCH lower then, Fraud was shut out ONCE, Stewart NEVER, Holgorsen once, SO FAR, by a team that got shut out 63-0 the next week................

35 point losses????Cignetti-5, Nehlen-3, Fraud-2, Stewart-0, Holgorsen-3
40?????????? Cignetti-3, Nehlen-2, Fraud-0, Stewart-0, Holgorsen-1

REMEMBER, that Cignetti's numbers are for FOUR seasons, Holgorsen's are for two and a half seasons!!!!, AND Cignetti played a tougher schedule than anyone since, sPitt, PSU, 'Cuse, Maryland, VPI, Oklahoma all had some pretty damn good teams.

Dana has more quality wins over ranked opponents through his first three years than any of the coaches Dad mentions.

Why are we worried about how big a loss is anyways? Is there some comfort in a close loss?

Every coach we have had has had bad L's and good wins, but for some reason we had DH to a different set of rules..we will call it the Stew butthurt syndrome.

Good night gents.

You might want to look in the mirror about different sets of standards!!!! I just do not understand the optimism about Holgorsen, based on one great bowl win. One in four games being an ass whipping says it all, the team is not improving, anything Efore touches turns to shit, Dawson has done nothing with the offense.

If memory serves me, Mullens did nothing with the offense and Stewart's special teams were not so special. Where is Mullens coaching at these days?
