IMO it is egregious to lump Donovan and especially Steve McNair in with Cunningham, Vick and Kaepernick.

Here, watch this and you'll quickly agree.

A Football Life Steve McNair ?? 1080p - YouTube
McNair was a stretch in terms of smarts. He certainly had more upstairs than the other ones mentioned. However he was a good runner with a big arm and never won the big game.

Donovan on the other hand, I will keep in the same company.

Point being, Kaepernick may show flashes and win some games, but elite he will never be. IMO.

I dunno, call me a homer, but he has a great arm and is the fastest QB in the league. Last night was one of his worst games, his throws were all over, but look at Week 1, look at how he played in the playoffs last year, and most of the season after he came in.

Last night he had a 30 or 40 yard run where every other QB in the league either gets sacked or maybe makes it back to the line of scrimage. His throws and decisions were off yesterday, but that tool along with an extremely strong arm give him a ton of potential.

I think by the start of next year, he will be considered a top 7 or 8 QB and maybe top 5.

Maybe he was off balance due to thinking about the removal of an eyebrow. :laugh3:

Considering how little time the guy has had in the league, it's way too soon to tell what he will be, pro or con. His speed gives him an edge over most QB's but that is a huge risk to hang your hat on. One freak injury can end that in a hurry(as we have seen before). If SF continues to develop his pocket ability, he will be fine. The guy has the arm talent and just needs to learn how to deal with the NFL. His 2 worst games are in Seattle. Should that really come as a surprise to anyone? Even veteran QB's get rattled in that environment. If you could ask guys like Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, I bet they would say that stadium is a nightmare. Honestly, too many people fall victim to this massive hype machine that is modern pro sports. The "superstar" tag gets thrown around so much that it is meaningless. Young guys like this, especially when they have some early success, get put into a position where anything less than perfect is a bust. We will see whether these young kids, (Kaep, Wilson, RG3, Luck, Newton, etc.) will have the mental strength to handle all this hype or ignore it. Better yet, let's see how they bounce back from adversity, Kaep did pretty well last year. It helps to have a good team around him and good coaching.

hahaha...I was just watching and commenting on the game, dillweed...I'm a Jets fan.
But you gotta love how just 2 games into the season, the seahawks fanbase feel like they've finally won a superbowl.

Don't get too carried away, sally.
dillweed? Who over the age of 12 actually says that? :L

meh, dey just jelly split. Every fan base would be doing the same thing as ours if they were rolling like this and they know it. Of course it's a long season and anything can happen, but you ride the waves when they come and for as long as they last. Those hate'n are just jelly.

Rolling like this? Yeah your team is 2-0 but I wouldn't call your first win rolling your opponent. I would for sure be giddy kicking the snot out of the Whiners though. For some reason(cough Capers cough) the Whiners have had our number the last couple of games.

the fascination is because he is a dual threat QB that helped his team lose the SB in his first year as a starter.

He's overrated. I've always thought he greatly benefitted from having a great OL & Jim Harbaugh / Greg Roman on the coaching staff. He's better than Alex Smith, but it's not like he's a seasoned veteran. He hasn't even played a full season yet.

He'll do better when Crabtree gets back from injury, but any QB would do better getting his #1 receiver back. SF is one of the more QB-friendly places in the NFL. I'd say it's top 3-5 in the entire NFL.

If I were a QB right now, I would want to play in Atlanta (by far the best QB situation), Dallas, SF, Denver... maybe Cinci', Houston or New Orleans. I wouldn't want to play in Chicago, Arizona, Jacksonville, Oakland or San Diego.

Yes he has had a fantastic benefit, but if you notice he is attempting to be more of a pocket passer these past 2 games, and only running when the play breaks down. As much as I generally dislike his overall image, I must admit it looks like he is working to elevate his game.
He is in a very good situation and environment and he knows it, if/when he gets it all together he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Any man that uses the word jelly as reference to jealous is a fucking homo. For you to even think of using the word clueless after that exhibition of Idiocracy is laughable.

I can't take you seriously if this is how you talk, therefore your substance is of no concern to me.

Again, anyone who only addresses language instead of substance has to be clueless themselves. You clearly knew what the reference was and yet pretended to ask what it meant. I guess you don't have kids and that is probably a good thing for the rest of us. For you to even think of using the world clueless after that exhibition of pompous indignation is laughable.

I guess this is all you have left after your team gets totally blown up on national TV. I weep for you.
