That's been the Seahawks MO; add more to the team elsewhere instead of investing in the offensive line to keep Russell upright. Why do you think he wants out? He gets hit WAY too often. Adding Julio isn't really going to change that. They already have 2 quality starting WRs, it's far from being a weakness.
I cant imagine any QB complaining that their management landed them Julio Jones. Even if he did complain and wanted to go to another team what offense would offer more weapons than lockett, Metcalf and Julio Jones. Everyone keeps saying we should invest in the O-line, is there an all pro guard or tackle that is on the market that I dont know about? If this was a choice between the two I would choose the O-line but this isnt the case this is simply on whether or not to trade for Julio Jones.

The more I think about this the more I feel this is just information that is purposely leaked maybe by the Falcons to see if any team would be pressured into giving a 1st round pick. I dont think the seahawks and falcons are in any deeper talks than any other team in the league.

He has a 20 million cap hit next season. If they trade/cut him they can save 16 million. Not saying the Seahawks would do that.
We knew making him the highest paid ILB was going to have backlash. They need to trade or cut him pre 1 Jun for that savings. Even after drafting Brooks I can't see Seattle letting him walk?
Maybe a restructure or new contract? But then you get into the proverbial push the can down the road.

Everyone likes Wagner but $16.6M looks pricey.
Of course because he wanted to be the highest paid ILB. Seattle cow towed and now are having to work around it. The top 10 are all averging between $10 and $17M so for his production and leadership it's not crazy. That making the assumption he had another Wags prototypical year.

The contract was perfectly reasonable in 2019. It was pre-covid and the cap was expected to rise significantly with the new tv deal. The non-guaranteed final year reflects where both parties expected the market to be IF he was still playing at a high level. The Seahawks are fine with paying him $13.4M this year. Next year could be a tough decision, but it doesn't have to be made until just before Week 1 of the 2022 season. No hurry.

Maybe this is why he hasn't signed anywhere yet? Atl will have to dump him sooner or later and teams know that.

It'd be interesting to see what teams have offered at this point?

Curious what do you see as reasonable?

If I'm a contender and I know I'll have a late 1st round pick anyway, I give up a first. I would like some relief on his contract though.
No way I give up a 1st for a 32 yo coming off an injury. Hamstrings are not considered serious - unless you depend on speed for a living.
Number 1 indicatore for hammy is having torn it before.
Number 2 indicator is age.....
Torn hamstrings have ruined many a players career. They can still play but not the same.....

I didn't say he would complain about Jones. I don't know that it solidifies Wilson staying in Seattle, or if it even helps the team that much if Wilson's still running for his life consistently.

There aren't any linemen available NOW, but when FA started? Of course there were, and it doesn't take all pros to improve upon the Hawks current line.

Reality is following the stats. Hes not the best deep ball passer. You are wrong. Again.

So ya didn't watch the video. Right as I always am.

1. RUSSELL WILSON, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
42.3% completion percentage, 13.9 yards per attempt, 119.2 Passer Rating
Nobody throws a prettier deep pass than Russell Wilson, and it turns out that’s not only backed up by PFF grade but also by his production. Wilson had the second-most completions on these passes last season, trailing only Jameis Winston, and Wilson also tied for the second-most deep touchdowns. Wilson produced five more big-time throws (PFF’s highest-graded throws that take into account ball location accuracy, etc.) than any other quarterback last year, and they came at the cost of just one turnover-worthy play.

Your a seahawks fan, am i wrong? Hes too 10-12 depending on the metric, hes not the best.
I do love his deep pass and last year was a tale of two seasons. First half he connected on most but second half he was way off target.

No. Too many misses back half of the season. Teams knew he wanted to throw long and was easily covered which in-return made Russ hold the ball much longer and created more sacks.
