Doesn't it go by strength of schedule or victory then?
We'll need to get the College Football Playoff Committee involved.

Very good game. Right down to the 00:00 mark.
Ravens have built a powerful offensive machine. Your defense played a great game. So close.Good to the last drop. I would've loved it if I weren't a Niners fan. Now I just respect it.

Niners will cover, but lose. Baltimore's defense will continue to make plays, and will make most of the afternoon pretty miserable for Garoppolo. Game will be somewhat low-scoring, i'm thinking something in the neighborhood of 17-13 Ravens

Okay, I've started to look into it. Record against common opponents is actually the next tiebreaker after divisional record. Under the 13-3 scenario I mentioned above, the Niners and Seahawks would both finish 10-2 against common opponents, so they're tied again (both losses against New Orleans and Ravens).
The next tiebreaker is conference record, which they would be tied again.
Then we get to strength of victory, and this is where the Seahawks might get the tiebreaker edge. Strength of victory goes by the combined record of the teams that you beat. 10 of the Niners and Seahawks wins would be against common opponents. 1 of their wins would be against each other. All equal until we get to the non-common opponents. The Niners have wins against the Packers (currently 9-3) and Redskins (3-9). The Seahawks would have wins against the Eagles (5-7) and Vikings (8-3). Niners fans might need to root for the Packers and Redskins the rest of the way, and for the Eagles and Vikings to collapse.
Yes he is.Justin Tucker is the best of the best and in his prime. Also read that a Raven might have gotten a finger on Gould's kick.
Yeah, I think the NBA does it that way.
Does anyone know what would happen if the Niners lose to the Saints next week, but they win the rest of the way and both the Niners and Seahawks finish 13-3? Head to head, division record and conference record would all be equal if I'm not mistaken.
Good question.... I think it comes down to wins and losses within the division... Should be both sweep the division but ourselves going 1-1 each, then things get more complicated...
NFL Rules on Division Tiebreakers
Obviously you're not pleased when your team losses but I knew they weren't going 15-1 and if you're going to lose against the hottest team in the NFL I can at least takeaway the fact it went down to the final seconds. In those cases you tip your hat and move on to the next opponent.
Now if it's a blowout you come away concerned but a loss like that still affirms to me that you're still a legitimate contender.
Both losses were very close and could have gone either way, both to very good teams. No shame in it. Better now than in the playoffsObviously you're not pleased when your team losses but I knew they weren't going 15-1 and if you're going to lose against the hottest team in the NFL I can at least takeaway the fact it went down to the final seconds. This comes up most years. It isn't going to change. Remember when the hawks won the division with 7-9 record and ended up beating the Saints? The seeding was a serious cluster fuck. Nothing was changed.I agree... NFL needs to take a good hard look at the playoff seedings, winning the division should guarantee you a playoff spot, but seeding should be by record...

Winning your division matters. They want the intensity turned way up on division games. There are consequences, major ones, for not winning your division. And that's the way the NFL wants it.
