Getting the game thread started a couple days early because this game is getting hyped as the potential Game of the Year for the regular season.

San Francisco, led by Kyle Shanahan and Jimmy Garoppolo, is 10-1 and has the #1 defense, giving up only 248.0 yds/gm.

Baltimore, led by John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson, is 9-2 and has the #1 offense, putting up 433.3 yds/gm.

The 49ers, at +5, are the first 10-1 team in over a decade to be an underdog.

Is Vegas right that the Ravens will win? Vote who you think will win in the poll, which I've timed to close just before the start of the game!

Historical background:

The last time the teams met was the 2015 Ravens @ 49ers game which the 49ers won 25-20.

Before that, they met in the 2012-2013 season's Super Bowl XLVII, also known as the Har-Bowl, pitting the Harbaugh brothers against each as head coaches, and the Blackout Bowl, due to the 3rd quarter power outage that let the 49ers storm back from being down 28-6 to, in the end, narrowly lose 34-31.

Think the 49ers win. 49ers offense has enough juice offensively to press the issue, even if they are dangerously prone to turnovers, imo. That D can give anyone trouble. Don't think the Ravens can drop 35 consistently on these type of defenses.

Ravens have the edge in this match-up ... Niners O is gonna struggle, especially if the running game is contained... 49rs D I have no doubt will keep the game somewhat close, but Ravens at home should take this...

I remember that SB, that’s the one where Ray Lewis killed the lights.

I predict an SF loss. East coast, early start against the hottest team in the NFL. The gameplan is simple in design, difficult to execute - contain the edge, and interior defenders dominating their assignments. Take away the inside game and Jackson is simply an RB playing QB. He really can't execute throws outside the hash marks and once he is forced outside with a bit of pressure, not only is he ineffective, he can give up some real negative plays.

Drinking game....

You have to take a shot every time the announcers blow Lamar Jackson during the game.

Niners have elite team speed on D, what you need to check up a dual-threat QB. But this one could go either way. Garoppolo needs to play his best game for SF to win, imo.

I've been wrong about every big game the Niners have played in this year, so I'll say Niners lose.

Niners will cover, but lose. Baltimore's defense will continue to make plays, and will make most of the afternoon pretty miserable for Garoppolo. Game will be somewhat low-scoring, i'm thinking something in the neighborhood of 17-13 Ravens

The Niners have a great pass rush but they have given up some big running games at times. The Ravens Oline is opening some big holes and it's not just Lamar running. Ingram and the other RBs could have a big day. And the Ravens D is better than any that San Fran has seen so far. I think the Ravens continue their hot play.

Is that size of the asshole the Seahawks left on the 49ers in their seal?

If the Ravens win this game they will have tremendous confidence going into the last half of the season and the playoffs. Don’t underestimate that. They are having a great season but everyone knows playoff football is different. If the Ravens win this game they will go into the playoffs knowing they can compete with the best teams in the league. That will mean a lot.

Everyone should be passed out by the 1st Q........

One shot of water for every Michael Vick comparison. Should help people make it to halftime.
