Na.

Penn State weathered far worse and is already back to being perennial contenders.

The OSU shit doesn’t even come close to that.

Who are you getting? By all accounts Richt, Jimbo, Dabo are staying at their respective positions.

Only person off the top of my head that think is really a viable option is Gary Patterson given that TCU is not a powerhouse.

Remember, your program is only as strong as your HC. You can't just put anyone in that position and expect the same success.

That's why a lot of fans that are outside Ohio think OSU is lucky in the sense that you went from having Tressel for a decade to having Urban Meyer who's a better coach fall into your laps.
Patterson isn't leaving TCU.

He would have already left by now.

Not many jobs the caliber of Ohio State have become open.

Hate the school with a passion (stems from '02 Fiesta Bowl). But that's one of the most prestigious jobs in football. Any coach that takes that job over is taking over a program in great shape; they're not having to rebuild it.

The Drumbeat is getting louder.
People seem to be going "off the rails" with their talking points.
The more we know, the worse it gets.

And the media doesn't look to be happy about it either.

Heat ratchets up as Urban Meyer, Zach Smith try to pass the buck in confounding media tour

The more we know about the Zach Smith scandal, the less we know

I'm just trying to catch up on all of it myself, but it doesn't look good for Ohio State fans.
In today's supercharged atmosphere about such things, it's hard to believe that this ends up well.

I guess we can all just sit back and point fingers and shit.

Post anymore updates here.
I need to catch up.

They are still picked as #1, are they not?

I gave DJ a "like" for his post and decided to comment/quote here.

I doubt Patterson would be interested in OSU. Well, he might
be interested but he may have a greater need for a long-term
ideal situation for him. At OSU only teams that contend for a
NC are considered "good." Those expectations don't include
10-win seasons. At the minimum you better be getting 11
on average. A bad year, here or there, will have them moaning
a bit. You won't be allowed two years. 8-win seasons will not
cut it.

We know Patterson gets as much out of his players as anybody in the country. But he doesn't have top recruiting classes.

Dealing with 4-5 star players and dealing with 3 or below is different in the approach and the coaching style. TCU plsyers
will run thru a wall for TCU. That's a different breed than OSU
players that will run thru a wall to impress a pro scout/team.

He may not have the confidence in himself to deal with that type
of player. Especially if they are all 4 and 5 star athletes.
He may like the idea of being a "legend" at TCU over being
unemployed after 3 years at OSU.

Look at the Boise State coaches. They were all successful at Boise
and all of them flops everywhere they went, with the exception of
Peterson. They got a certain type of athlete at Boise and were able
to milk every ounce of energy out of them. They couldn't do that
when they moved up in class.

Koetter is coaching with the Bucs but he only got that job when they fired Lovie because I was out back mowing the yard when they called me.

If a situation doesn't feel right or if you are content with what
you have going for you at the present...stick with it

*She called 911 (66) times in 90 days.

*She got pulled over 3 times for DUI. On each time they let her off and escorted her home.

*Each time she began crying and stated Zach was chasing her and she was afraid. Each time Zach was at practice.

Crazy kunt.

way I see it (probably wrong, of course): yesterday was a coordinated PR Blitz, as they couldn't leave it hanging as it was. The momentum was building, everyone had an opinion that he "was gone", and something had to be done. First, OSU releases a statement. Then Urban releases his post on FB, and finally the batterer guy broke his lawyer-imposed silence in order to throw the "batshit crazy wife" from the "toxic"relationship under the bus. Was a fairly amazing thing to see, probably all managed by a $5,000 an hour risk-management firm. Just my first reaction...

I still surprised and somewhat disappointed that some enterprising tOSU alum hasn’t taken the #CAB campaign used by Baylor with Coach Art Briles and apply it to Coach Urban Meyer.

Patterson has said many times he doesn’t want to coach at those “tier 1” type schools. He’s had multiple chances to step to take a much bigger job and shot them all down. He’s just more comfortable at a school like TCU.

And there's nothing wrong with that. But I have heard that his main source of income is working for some big company/oil company run by a TCU alum super rich guy, and Patterson sits on the board of directors or some shit. Does no real work, get's millions of dollars for it. All just to coach at TCU. It's a nice set up being the TCU is a private university and doesn't have the same disclosure requirements and shit.

Interesting. Never heard that before. With a situation like that, no wonder he doesn’t want to leave.

From what I understand, he gives up stock in some very, very profitable companies if he leaves.

Truth. Not sure of the details but he's set financially as long as he stays at TCU.
