The nuclear bomb we've all been wondering about, I am sure.
Jets could forever destroy the QB market to the point where the league may be very different if this were to actual happen. Could you imagine what Rodgers and Brees demand if Cousins gets this?jesus 130 mill guaranteed?
it would be insane, and theres been rumblings this could happen with some teamJets could forever destroy the QB market to the point where the league may be very different if this were to actual happen. Could you imagine what Rodgers and Brees demand if Cousins gets this?
I kind of wonder if this is the logical next step in QB contracts? If just average-above-average joe and Jimmy G's are getting league setting dollar amounts year and year out, aren't we due for a GTD explosion at some point? Let's be real, if these QB's are worth anything, these teams hang onto them until it becomes impossible usually.it would be insane, and theres been rumblings this could happen with some team
yes, but cousins to start that???I kind of wonder if this is the logical next step in QB contracts? Survived tags, and all kinds of prove-it years. Rare QB to make it to UFA in his prime. Desperate teams looking to get their QB to jumpstart their rebuild and position themselves later. The Jets and Browns have money, the Broncos have pedigree. If there is a trump card the Jets and Browns have, it's putting a poison pill so to speak to the point it's cap suicide for the Broncos to sign Cousins.yes, but cousins to start that???
I cannot imagine that actually happening. I mean, no matter how good you think a player is (and I don't think any of us believe Cousins is Jonny U 2.0), everyone is one play from it all coming to an end.
I hear what you are saying, but the names you are using, Brady, Manning and Brees, present a LOT more upside than Cousins, and even they never had fully guaranteed deals.Pocket passing QB's though offer a little less risk than other positions. Look at Manning, Brady, Brees. 3 of the biggest pocket passing QB's out there and for the most part have stayed very healthy and played for quite a few years. Cousins is pretty smart about the hits he takes and has shown he can for sure last an entire season. So yes there is risk as there is with any guaranteed money you throw at a player. I would say though that a pocket passing QB is about as risk averse as you can get outside of punter, kicker, and long snapper.
If they plan on a full guarantee they need to max it at 20M per for 5 years.jesus 130 mill guaranteed?
I don't think he's close to Top Ten tbh.I hear what you are saying, but the names you are using, Brady, Manning and Brees, present a LOT more upside than Cousins, and even they never had fully guaranteed deals.
It is just such a big risk for so little reward. I think Cousins is scratching the top ten of QBs at his very best. Not one of the top 5 week in and week out like those guys.
