MJ: 30 ppg 49 FG% 3P% 32.7 6 RPG, 5 APG, 2.3 SPG 0.8 BPG AND FT% 82.8, 6 championships
LJ 27 ppg 50 FG% 3p% 40 7 RPG 7 APG 1.6 SPG 0.8 BPG AND FT% 77 3 championships

They are pretty damn close statistically.

Interestingly, they each have 4 of the top 15 PER seasons in NBA history. Wilt had 3.

The most interesting part? 3 of those 4 PER season for MJ came before the Bulls started winning titles. 3 of LeBron's 4 came in Miami. Not sure what that means.

The magic word there is they are close stat wise and that was what I was thinking

Jordon never had a super team like LeBron had in Miami.

The Bulls were definitely a super team on defense. Only team to have 3 players on all NBA 1st team defense in 1 year + Ron Harper (top 25 all time in steals)?? They didn't hold an ESPN special and all come together like they did in Miami. The Bulls had one of the best rebounders/PF defenders of all time, best scorer of all time, and Pipp who could also flat out defend and get you 18/7/5 a game.

Again, this comes down to different Eras and the game is different. But when you look at offensive and defensive stats/awards + rings, I think it's pretty obvious.

Now this is damn funny. Here are LeBron & Kobe's career #'s through 14 seasons.

Lebron hasn't played in his twilight years yet. When his numbers drop dramatically. Once he retires, then we can compare stats.

The stats @Wamu posted were through 14 seasons. They didn't include Kobe's twilight years either.

I see that @True Lakers Fan bullshitted this absolutely factual, relevant and unbiased post of yours.

Seriously, @tlance, I do not know how you suffer these two talking meatballs as graciously as you do. I just don't have the patience for that and as soon as someone betrays their inability to form rational, cogent thoughts, I no longer spend time trying to debate or discuss things with them, I just mock them.

So, I think you should get a tHoop certificate for all the fine work you do on here with the mentally handicapped.

Doing pretty well! How about you?

I'm just not much of a basketball fan. At all.

I just get a kick out of all the gaping Lebron haters and find it fascinating that the most ardent among them tend to be Lakers and Heat fans. Particularly @trojanfan12 . . .

Although I did take Slink Jr to his first Cavs game last Saturday. I also learned this morning that Larry Nance Jr is in the NBA. He went to the same high school that I did and his dad (parents?) still live here. I see Sr around from time to time. He's a tall mother fucker. I also met Shaq once on New Year's Eve while he was playing for the Cavs - he was eating at the same restaurant that I was. Finally, Craig Elho visited my elementary school to talk to us and slam dunk, although it took him three tries. White men can't jump, and all that.

So I guess maybe I'm a huge basketball fan and assume that I can speak at least as intelligently as the talking twice-baked potatoes can.

:wtf:

Particularly me? I don't like the guy and never have. But I acknowledge what a great player he is and, unlike some others, would love to see him join the Lakers. I still won't like him, but I'll root for him, same as I did Kobe (who I also never liked).

Takes a special kind of snowflake to think that having someone number 4 all time is "hate." lol

The sports media and the media in general has it's favorites.
You will never see negatives stories about them ..and they will promote any positive story.

Lebron is the poster child of this.

The first google result you get when you type "Lebron James finals record" is this.
..LeBron’s Finals Record Isn’t Really A Disappointment

They will defend that horrendous finals record till death. (3 for 8)
And yet a favorite target for the sports media is Tom Brady

5 SB wins out of 7, Most SB wins by a QB ever ...and yet the sports media consensus is 50/50 at best that he is the best ever.

Yeah, I actually agree that from an overall statistical perspective, LeBron has passed Jordan. (KAJ is the stat goat and still ahead of LeBron in that department though).

MJ is the goat though, and ahead of LeBron in terms of all-time lists.

For now, but the argument will get stronger and stronger as his career goes on and more statistics are passed.

It comes down to the eye test. Sure some players have more rings and some don't have any, that are better than players that have rings. The eye test imo puts lebron squarely at the number 2 spot...and if he wins a few more rings i may have to upgrade that spot.

If it was only stats KAJ would be the goat and if it was only rings Russel would be the goat...It's comes down to the eye test
