Tbh, this is a sloppy assed WS.

I don't really like cheap homers and lazy baserunning.

Quit watching last night after Puigs cheapy. Cuz I didn't really care who won that bad baseball game.

a combination of gassed pitchers and dozens of good hitters is going to result in a lot of offense

It's more than just that.

But you're right, Morrow for the ninth straight day was a bad idea. Especially when the mindset was elevated fast balls.

I do know now that I'll never feel guilty for preferring Lindor to Correa. And JV to all but maybe two righties. Springer also is a dumbass.

There's some seriously flawed baseball being played out there. Not a cerebral series by any means.

It's been pretty good thus far. hard to top 1991 though. Even last year and the Cubs winning it all was a great moment.

No love for 1986 Mets-Red Sox?

The Bill Buckner and Mookie Wilson show had plenty of drama.

Rangers-Cardinals was a classic but a downer because the Rangers blew it. Can't get any closer to winning without winning.

Marlins-Yankees and Diamondbacks-Yankees were classic because David took out Goliath.

And Twins-Braves, well it's nearly impossible to have 2 more evenly-matched teams.

I think it could be in the discussion:

1) We get a game 7.
2) We get a 1-0 or 2-1 in extra innings game.

The World Series is usually a good product. More often than not theyve been pretty memorable

Crazy to compare 2011-2017 World Series to 2003-2010:

2011-2017: 5 went at least 6 games, 13 one-run games, 6 extra-inning games
2003-2010: 2 went at least 6 games, 10 one-run games, 2 extra-inning games

1986 is definitely up there. Win the first two on the road and then lose the next two at home. Similar to 1996 Yankees vs Braves.

re-post from another thread…from myself of course.

"i don't know if anyone else heard joe buck talking about the baseballs being used during this WS…he talked about how much "slicker" the pitchers were saying they were…

perhaps that is why no pitcher's sliders were being attempted to be thrown…the batters were just teeing off on everything else being thrown.

an amazing game to watch and an epic classic for sure. Glad i saw the entire game."

They actually won with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th.

Broke Womacks' bat with a single to right

Sac Bunt, mariano tries to make the hero throw to second, bad throw, 2nd and 3rd

Bases juiced, Torre should have had the IF at DP depth, he didnt

Luis Gonzalez hits a ball that doesnt clear the infield, a pop up that would have landed in Jeters glove if the infield was at normal depth

Fuck off

Womack actually had the double that tied it. Mark Grace had the single that led off the inning.

So bases loaded, run scores it's over, one out. DP depth or infield in to cut down the runner at home?

Ahhh Grace, thats right

I go DP depth there only cause I hate how much of the field opens up with the infield in...And of course the way it ends, a routine infield popup

That is why there is no correct answer as it is too subjective. I liked this one best because I'm a Cardinals fan.
