Anyway, remember...you're talkin' to a guy who traded Brees in a deal for Flacco and then dropped Flacco for Bradford, so what the hell do I know??? :pound::pound::pound:

I dunno, Joe...lumping Winston and Ostweiler together kinda sends a different message, imo...
The Osweiler reference was in connection with his completion % only.
But Oz did have Demaryius, Sanders and Latimer to throw to for a season also. (i.e. weapons)

Just want to make it clear that even though I'm not as high on Winston this year, there is absolutely no way that I am elevating Oz above him. (Nor am I lowering Winston to Oz's disastrous level either.)

You did it again.
Lee Harvey Osweiler does have a ring to it.

Just 1 more thought in the M vs W debate.
Sometimes we look at how a player finished a season as a reflection of his progress....

Mariota averaged 21.1 points his first 8 games. Then dipped slightly to 20.4 his last 7 games. (-0.7) (Missed 1 game.) Note that his last 3 games (week 14 thru 16 were putrid) averaging 7.6 points.

Winston averaged 22.2 points his first 8 games. Then dropped to 16.9 his last 8. (-5.3) Ironically, 3 of his last 4 games were substandard as well averaging 11.8 points.

Evans caught a lot of long balls last year, Jackson is just siphoning off some of those. So not buying that Jackson brings something new or different to the offense. A 6'3 go up and get it WR is good to have all over the field, not just the Red Zone, rest of The Titians WRs really don't have that skill set. So IMO Decker is the one adding a new dimension to the offense, not Jackson.
I honestly, truly, all due respect, fail to see the logic in that post

Decker has the chance to become the primary WR...WR1 with the Titians
Jackson doesn't have that chance with the Bucs. He'll be a decoy more often then not. Also given Winston turn overs, Bucs will want him throwing shorter, safer passes this season.
So IMO Decker brings more to the Titians then Jackson does for the Bucs.

quick comment on the Winston's more turnovers than Mariota -

I view Winston's INTs the same as I view Luck's, when he throws them, that just locks the team in for higher percentage chance of more passing attempts on their next possession(s) the rest of the game.

so from a fantasy perspective, if he throws more INT but that leads to more yards and TDs, sounds good to me

I am going Winston... I like Mariota, and think he is going to be one of the most efficient QBs in football, but I see Tennessee being a run first offense... I also think there division is better defensively, and will play more ball control/field possession games...

TB has a weak running game, and some very good receiving weapons... and there division has some offensive juggernauts, that they will have to keep pace with...

Last season's defense allowed PPG:
Saints - 28.4
Falcons - 25.4
Panthers - 25.1
Jags - 25
Colts - 24.5
Texans - 20.5

I think the run game vs lack of run game is spot on, but both QBs get to face favorable division rivals, with Texans being the only team resembling a defensive/clock management style offense.

Jacksonville too... they are going to run the ball a lot... going to kill lots of clock.... Tennessee wants to run the ball too.. when they play, i do expect a lower than average # of snaps...

If we're talking about stealing crab legs I go with Winston all day. If we're talking about football I go with Winston all day.
Mariota seems like too nice of a kid to be in the NFL..

Actually, Spock, I do love your logic here.
But even run teams will pass if they're losing.

Last season: TB passed 56% of the time (and ran 44% of the time). TEN passed 51% of the time.

This year, TB has the 14th toughest schedule based on win/loss%. TEN plays the 2nd easiest schedule based on win/loss%.

If you consider the offense prowess of the teams they'll be facing, TB plays the 3rd strongest schedule. TEN plays the 4th easiest.

sure, but it is not just about percentage it is also about how many snaps...

Winston last year had 567 passing attempts vs marriota's 451... Winston averaged 5 more pass attempts per game...

Some people are failing to grasp just how good Desean Jackson is. You'll see.

That offense is explosive as hell and Winston is free to sling it with great RZ targets also.

Mariota's team wants to run the ball and has two backs better than anything in Tampa.
